Does anybody know what the attached picture is? Recently installed in my girlfriends horse stable, they've no idea what it is.

I don't think it's a queen wasp though, my Dad kills them for a living.

Yes I believe the black wire goes into the black thingymabob. And very few doggers!

This is what I thought as soon as I read "girlfriends horse stable" didn't even have to look at the pic but the pic pretty much confirms it.

I think the only thing mentioned so far that we can rule out is Dalek, and that's only because we wouldn't have survived long enough to take a photo if it was indeed a Dalek. Apparently its the only one in the immediate area, stable owner isn't creepy from what I know. There is a powery-boxy-thing in the same room (tack room) so maybe it's a temp sensor to make sure the powery-boxey-thing hasn't gone up in flames?

I'd honestly go with some kind of sensor whether it's temp, movement, moisture. Something.

Not that I'm aware of. Roof above is literally corrugated sheet metal into wooden beams.
