Greizman 60 million perhaps. Although not a great game a positive tournament.

We need someone like sissoko. Not sure who exactly and not sissoko bit that mould of player.

Griezmann would cost an insane amount of money. You would get laughed at if you offered Athletico £60m for him. I don't see why we need to spend so much on Pogba to be honest. I doubt that any other club would come close to paying what its suggested we are offering so why are we putting that sort of money down. €100m is a lot let alone the 120-130 being touted. I doubt Juventus would turn that down.

I can understand all the doubts about Pogba. He hasn't had a great tournament tbh and the money is just insane! However Mourinho has a pretty good track record of making good players great players and I think he'd do exactly the same with Pogba. Plus, he wouldn't cripple him like Deschamps has this tourny. At 23 I'd say go for it, because he's one of the most marketable players in the world with his best years ahead of him.

edit: plus, this transfer is a bit of a statement of intent from Utd. Blowing RM out of the water like that sends out a pretty strong signal!

If he continues to improve as well then even if Madrid come in for him in a few years we would make our money back quite easily. If we want to ever hold onto top players as well we need to be winning things regularly and I think he can help us do that.

On the flip side, we seem to be paying over the amount Juventus would accept just because.

Thats what its all about - a statement of intent.

Utd can now buy right at the peak of the market, and not worry about the financing (so much).

Im not sure Utd are paying over what Juve would accept, given that it seems clear they dont NEED to sell, so the only way to convince is by a clear world record fee in the £95-100m region

(edit not sure if there is any value in it, but if Mata goes the other way for £20m off then so be it)

Obviously no player is actually worth that, but if he helps the team become top of the pile in the EPL again and get deep in the CL knock out stages (obiously from 17-18 onwards) then so be it.

A few years ago most (Utd) fans were complaining when Fergie was being so frugal, now its completely the opposite.

Decent player, maybe needs to move up a level for the EPL after having it relatively easy in Italy for so long but worth a shot

(I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up staying after all this, but IF the transfer happens , why the **** not get it done)

If it going to happen it will be done in the next week or so I think. Mourinho seems to want to get everything sorted quickly so if this transfer isn't going to happen then he will move on.

Honestly, the only serious goal we have this season is to get back into the CL. If we can mount a title challenge that will be amazing but as long as we are back in the top 2 teams in the league and doing well in the CL within two seasons I will be very happy.

It's great being a Boro fan right now, the transfers and rumours have been well beyond my expectations (but tbh they were pretty low :p)

Boro looking to push through transfers for Negredo and Subotic. Also another Valencia player by the name of Antonio Barragan who I admit I know nothing about.

I'll be over the moon if we can pull off those first two though!

Raiola has told The Times Pogba may yet sign a new deal with Juventus and he isn't pushing to leave.

Could be tactical though, with the amount of money we're apparently going to pay him I can't see him putting the brakes on, but you never know.

I really hope it doesn't drag on, I think Mourinho will be clear about that.

again, not overly upset if did fall through, though I expect this is just posturing to make Juventus look like they are not getting walked all over.

I think this is most likely the case, Juventus won't be able to get near what we're offering Pogba, and they certainly won't want to give Raiola £30m~ either.

Pogba is a top player but after seeing him in the CL and Euro's, he's not worth £100m, if RM have backed out then you know it's stupid.
Even in the Germany game, he assisted their second goal when Bastian and Can had gone off leaving the midfield weak.
Vastly overrated, could be due to people just wanting to jump on SAF's mistake and United want to rectify the mistake at any cost. I don't see him rejoining us unless José convinces him

From a player perspective rumours are anything up to 250k a week which is crazy money that given his career to date earning relative peanuts in Holland he couldn't turn down.

From a club perspective 5m profit on a player over 30 who has s year left on his contract isn't bad business especially when you consider he doesn't score in the winter and rumours of a dodgy knee are doing the rounds.

Will certainly miss him as he has been feat for us and scored some brilliant goals!
