From a player perspective rumours are anything up to 250k a week which is crazy money that given his career to date earning relative peanuts in Holland he couldn't turn down.

From a club perspective 5m profit on a player over 30 who has s year left on his contract isn't bad business especially when you consider he doesn't score in the winter and rumours of a dodgy knee are doing the rounds.

Will certainly miss him as he has been feat for us and scored some brilliant goals!

That also kills his international career....

Why do I have a feeling Arsenal will not bring in a striker this summer. :(

I share that sinking feeling.

Giroud had a half decent Euros so Wenger will use that as an excuse to say again..."we have Giroud, Sanchez, Walcott and Qelbeck for attacking options" or the age old classic of "I will only buy if I see the right player who has he attributes we need".

Same story different year sadly.

Being reported in a number of places that Chelsea are to trigger £20m Kanté release clause.

Times:

Chelsea have begun talks to sign N’Golo Kanté as Antonio Conte moves swiftly to put his mark on the squad. The west London club are prepared to activate the £20 million release clause in the Leicester City midfielder’s contract after he impressed with France at Euro 2016.

Conte begins work at Cobham today before the club travel to Austria for their pre-season tour on Saturday.

Although Kanté is understood to be keen to sign for Chelsea, they could find themselves in a bidding war, with Shanghai SIPG understood to be interested in signing him.

The midfielder, 25, has turned down a £100,000-a-week offer from Leicester and is free to negotiate now that the European Championship is over.

Or as I like to say same **** different season :/.

Sanchez isn't a striker even though we have tried him there...didn't really work.
Giroud?? Good player but not good enough to win us a title...that much has been proven every season so far. He scores goals against the easy teams but when it comes to big teams and occasions, he disappears.
Walcott?? Meh absolutely useless tbf, sure he's got lots of pace but hasn't got an ounce of a footballing brain ie makes the wrong decisions time in time out.
Welbeck?? He won't be playing till at least Jan seeing as he's injured. Plus like Giroud I don't think he's the one that will fire us to a title anytime soon.

Surely Wenger knows this and knows he needs to sign us a decent out and out striker. But then this is Wenger and we all know just how stubborn he is and can be. Admirable that he has so much faith in our players ie Walcott and Giroud for instance but it's time he realised that those 2 aren't enough to win us a title.

I'll be honest, I don't see Wenger buying us a decent striker this yr. so as per usual, it will be another top 4 finish and celebrating finishing above Tottenham which seems to be a trophy in itself lol.

hope janssen doesn't turn out to be another soldado and good competition for kane

getting some decent depth now. ship out mason and carroll and reinvestment is what is needed next
