Britain must urgently prepare for flooding, heatwaves and food shortages

Meh. The planet's temperatures have been going up and down for thousands of years. How many ice ages has this planet had?

I'll buy more sunscreen and mozzy repellant.

I was thinking the same.

But has climate change be proven to be man made and have a high impact or is it just the natural change of the earth?

Face palm, you have yo ignore science totally to dismiss it, also ozone and climate chnagr are to different things, both of which have an effect on climate. But as ozone is a greenhouse gas, you would expect a minuscule rise in temprature

And humans in such numbers were around last ice age? In cities numbering 10s of millions of people on the coast?
That also isn't how climate change work, you don't just get a nice rise in temperature, some places get hotter, some lower. But what you will get is more extreme weather.
For exple the massive snow storm in north america that killed a fair number of people, was caused by higher than average temperatures over this pacific ocean causing more evaporation.

Again, I don't particularly care. If I was the head of some massive conglomerate who is in the position to facilitate big changes then I'd pay more attention but I am a measly peasant with a tiny rate of pollution (I don't even drive a diesel!) so I'll spend my care on things that I can actually change or influence.

Near enough. See myth #76 and #103 on the skeptical science website:

Climate change has been going on, good and bad, since time began!

Myth #1 ;)

Who helps elect a government of one of the worlds largest economies. If more peasents cared, then it would be at the forefront of manifestos.
So yes you are actually part of the issue.

There's not really any party committed to tackling climate change other than the Green party though and they are nuts.

They will never get in, but a vote for them still shows green issues are important, its also not the only way to influence government, so don't get your point.

Unfortuntley government largely does what public want and its getting worse.rather than doing what's needed, backed by science etc.

Can we not just floor the Sahara?

Like they wanted to do with plough share, but maybe do it with tunnels/a cannal than nukes.

Surely that would buy us a few inches of sea level

Or go the other way - embrace rising water levels - start building stuff like the Makoko floating school and so on (albeit less prone to collapsing).

i've been saying for years sicne they strted saying global warming is inevitable now and is self sustaining, why the **** are we wasting vast recources and money on wind farms and not flood defences?

It's a sliding scale, the more we pollute the more our climate will change. So we should be doing both, reducing emissions and adapting.
