Before anyone says "Get a real bike", unfortunately I can't use a road bike cos my balance is shot and I just fall over :) A back injury also prevents me from doing any serious gym work. This is what happens to your body after you have served your country for 22 years :)

I've been using my current v-fit bike for about 3 months now and have lost about a stone but it's playing up (skips on the downward peddle if that makes sense). I'm just looking to spend about £120 ish but willing to go a bit further for the right bike.

Did Reebok ever develop their exercise equipment further from ~10 years ago, which could be used as a game controller?

It is very possible to use flat bar hybrids or mountain bikes on turbo trainers, which greatly relieve lower back stress, I used to have Continental 26" and 700 turbo trainer tyres.

Obviously I'm not a medical professional and everyone's different, but I do know someone who lost their balance as a result of meningitis and cochlear implant surgery and still learned to ride a bike based on visual cues.
