I'm after a 128gb micro SD card to slot into my LG G4 and am torn between the SanDisk and Lexar cards that are a few pounds apart in price.

Anyone got any experience of there two cards, both in terms of read/write speeds as well as reliability?

The SanDisk boasts read speeds of upto 80 MB/s whereas the Lexar says it is 95 MB/s - although I'm sure these are not real-world speeds??

Thanks for any advice...

Both say up to so it's not real world sustained speeds.

However you also need to consider write speeds. Looking on the rainforest, reviews for both shows the Sandisk has average 50mb/s while the Lexar is on a lower 20mb/s. I would be tempted to go with Sandisk simply due to write speeds.

Hmmm, write speed is definitely a consideration but when I looked at the reviews on the rainforest, there was one from April 2015 that indicated the Lexar was 24.6 mb/s and the SanDisk was 14.5 mb/s, although I do understand that there used to be a "48 MB/s" version of the SanDisk card whereas most now are stated as 80 MB/s!?!?

If this is the Sandisk I was looking at yesterday on a prime deal then I was put off by the negative reviews stating it just stops working properly at any given time. Of course there will always be negative reviews on things but reading a few it seemed there were possibly fake ones being sold? Someone apparently bought one from a store and noted the aesthetic differences with text etc.

Not entirely conclusive but given many of these were recent (June) it put me off in case Amazon have indeed somehow got some 'dodgy' ones.

True, I think it also depends on the storage controller as well.

I have don't have the Ultra but I do have the Extreme Pro which I have tested myself and it does do 90/85 read/write, but it only goes up to 64GB.

Currently using it with my Surface Pro 4 for Android OS with no problems. I did consider the Lexar but the reviews on low write put me off.

I ordered one of these (£25), you can't be sure they have actually ordered directly from amazon, they may have ordered from a dodgy seller to save 50p or something. I've never had any problems with Sandisk cards not working, In fact i bought the exact same card for about £45 for my Nvidia K1 tablet just before christmas.
