Best budget GPU £300

that's bs about AMD not fully supporting it, look at the radeon 7970ghz even today I would still class it as fully relevant for a cheapish 1080p build I can't say the same about the GTX 680 which is around the same era as the 7970. the Fury card is a fantastic price at £300!

I have seen that card but also seen people binning it off for only having 4gb and apparently amd not going to fully support it anymore?

The performance is getting better and better on these cards due to DX12 and Vulkan.

4GB HBM is more efficient and should have next to no issues in 1080p

it's more of a 1440p and 4k card though, as at 1080p for some reason it's just not all that compared to even a standard non ti 980 overclocked. however 1440p and 4k it'll start to shine!

I wouldn't grab a rx480 over a fury personally, the 480 is more of a mid range card, grab a fury and then treat yourself to a nice new freesync 1440p monitor perfect combo! :)

I don't have the money at the moment for a new monitor so this one will be staying for now - just moving house :(

It's between the fury and the rx480 nitro I think

Definitely fury, even Gibbo recommended the FURY over the 480, the Fury is still a flagship card. and will last for a good while!! :) the 4gb Vram wont matter as much as I've read from AMDMatt it's in the driver or something but the Vram is used differently and more efficiently so 4gb shouldn't be an issue :)

A shame you couldn't stretch to £350, as the 980Ti is a sweet card for that price. I can't really recommend the RX480 after seeing what performance was like. I would go for a fury if £300 is the top of your budget and faster than your 390, so an upgrade at least.

I was going to mention the 980TI also, but saw he has a freesync monitor.

I defo can't afford a new monitor its only a 1080p freesync monitor, wouldn't say it's amazing as it didn't cost a lot about £120 quid and my absolute max budget for the gpu would be £400 so looking for the best card to last me.

If its 144hz fury x would be nice for 400 quid.

If its just a 60hz monitor I would recommend normal Fury till Vega is out..

the sapphire Fury Nitro is a killer deal for 299£, plenty enough for 1080p and you will see huge improvement(30%boost) in dx12/vulkan games, which will be much more frequent, 2017 will be majority of the games using new API, so the card's life span prospect is much better than a 900series if you ask me.
