Hello all.

I haven't posted on ocuk in a few years as I had to come out of the hobby. But im back now with a new PC. Here are my specs:

Intel Core i7 6700K Skylake @ 4.70GHz
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming-5 (F5)
16GB Kingston Fury Black PC21300C16 2666MHz @ 3200MHz C17-19-19-40
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition
2x 250GB Samsung 850 EVO RAID0
NZXT Noctis 450
750W EVO PSU

Cost a lot i know but it runs like a cheetah with a rocket up its ass lol. Anyways to topic...

I'm using NVIDIA Inspector for OC'ing. I've got Power and Temp target on 112%, 92C, and Fan on 70%. Temperatures staying between 60c-70c on full load @ GPU 1668mhz, boost 1845mhz (GPU Boost reporting around 2GHz).

Anything over GPU +162mhz (1668mhz, boost 1845mhz) on base clock offset crashes on everything!! I've seen many people get this to 200mhz+ easily using the exact same card. Is there anything im doing wrong? is nvidia inspector no good? Please help and much appreciated!

Not overclocking gpu memory yet till I get the gpu core oc stable.

Try MSI Afterburner.
leave memory alone. put power limit to max.

Start at +100mhz run a test, up it to +150mhz run a test, up it to +175mhz run a test.

If it crashes whatever you are using back it off a bit up the voltage and try again.

Also note what are you using to test it with ? I've found often in the past Uniengine Heaven will run all day with an overclock but if I run 3DMark with the same overclock it errors.
Although I tend to use GPU-Z stress test as its quicker to test a good/bad OC than the others then once I am happy with it I run a few benchmarks.

You say up the voltage.. as in GPU voltage? what should I set it to? Whats the safest voltage range? or safest max? I use 3dmark firestrike, heaven, and general gaming (crysis3, alien isolation, dying light. currently playing them games) to stress test.

up the GPU voltage in MSI Afterburner. The max will still be safe only way you could damage it voltage wise would be with a custom setting in a custom BIOS. MSI wont let you set an unsafe voltage. When I mean up it then just by a little like +15mv

The Pascal gpu won't let u set a high voltage period.

It crashes the driver at anything over 1.25v no matter what bios and even with zombie VRM such as E power.

Start with +400 mems + 100 core slider maxed on Power limit and voltage.

Thanks, that will help me also.
