They wouldn't have signed the contracts with higher release clauses though.

And I'm glad I didn't bother learning that Polish player's name as it looks like he's off to Milan. I've always thought he was a backup target for us so hopefully that means we've got somebody else lined up.

I don't understand the logic of players leaving, after Vardy decided to stay, I thought that they might all stay.

It always happens though, Dortmund are testament to that.

It's not like he's left to join Bournemouth, he's left to join a team that will probably challenge for the title and have champions league every year and not just a single fluke season. It's probably a long term decision.

We all know long term Chelsea is the probably* the better option. But they are not next season. Kante could stay at Leicester one more year and be part of what is a bit of a historic champions league campaign for Leicester then move onto Chelsea next year when they may or may not have Cl.

Think lots of people, not just Leicester fans, would have liked to see that team stick together and make a bit of a landmark. Last year was incredible and we were looking forward to seeing them up against some huge teams in europe.

*After last year, I daren't deal in certainties...

Because they are footballers trying to get the maximum return. Now is the time to move not when they finish 6 or 8th this year. Even if they all stayed with European football I doubt they would be in the top 4.

Last year I was scoffed at for suggesting the bigger players would move for better deals and that all this money was coming in they would hold on and be able to match wages offered, clearly they don't have that desire.

They will cash in this season and go back to being what they always were in a couple of seasons. But they have made history and will be hanging to to that rightly for years.

Those Thai fans can go back to Manu this year.

not different to liverpools run really when they had nothing but the league to go for, it would have been great for saurez to have stuck around for a CL run with a team playing far more exciting attacking football than Leicester, look what happened there when he left and they had more games to play. Leicester will do brilliant to finish top 6-8.

... risk the team having a crap season, seeing his value halve and have nowhere near the bargaining power for his wages because everyone would know he was desperate to go.

Leaving now is the safe move for anyone in a position to get big money for themselves, while the hype is still there and they're clearly the biggest fish in that pond.

Martin Skrtel's been in Turkey for 48hrs and already their defence has fallen apart.

Why would you think that? Varela is rumoured to be leaving, Valencia will probably play as a right midfielder under Mourinho which basically leaves Fosu-Mensah as backup and it's unclear which position Mourinho even sees him playing, it could be as a defensive midfielder.

Darmian can play left back too though can't he? Very useful cover if nothing else.

remember that JM wants specialists, and while decent at LB - I wouldnt say Darmian is a specialist on that side

(if Valencia ends up as backup anywhere that kind of shoots JM's theory though - given Utd have at least two left sided wide players better than Valencia already, and Darmian and Fabinho would be a better pairing - if indeed Utd sign Fabinho of course)

Valencia was decent for the first two seasons or so after arriving from Wigan but is well past his sell-by date

Really cant see that happening - they cant afford him and no reason for Utd to susidise his wages (which would have to be done heavily if he went there) as there are others who could afford them.

He may well end up staying - but if /when he does go, its highly unlikely to be to Espanyol imo

neither of them can afford him, we would want £25m for him and he probably earns £150,000 a week too.

I would be very disappointed if we let Mata go for not much money and or subsidise the salary, we need to stop getting taken for a ride especially when it comes to selling players.

No reason to subsidise his wages... other than to not be burdened by 100% of his wages. What's better, throwing £140k/week at someone you don't want, or £70k/week at someone you don't want (offset at least to an extent by a transfer fee you get for him)? Then you can spend that £70k/week on someone you want.

Sell him to Everton (for example) who can afford him, will pay a decent (ish) price and no wage subsidy............

Very disappointing in the last few years in this regard, I think its mainly because we have had so many players to move on recently we cant spend as much time on each deal (and getting the players in has been taking longer than really necessary until this summer at least)

I could see him at Valencia or Villareal.

Valencia certianly have the money, but not sure about their wage structure whether it could cater for ~£140k a week , I doubt it though (even if its pocket change for their owner)

Villareal I doubt it some how
