Anyone own one of these? what are they like?

are the stands sturdy(no wobble)
any backlight bleed? apart from the expected.
anything i should be aware of?

I've ordered this monitor's Freesync cousin, the Acer XF270HU. I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives later in the week.

Thought you said you were done with this section of the forum. Yes i did take a look around seen your Acer hate thread and some other stuff. But just like everything on the forum everyone posts about the bad experiences but very few post about the good, like the GPU forum you see lots of threads about this not working etc etc but when do you ever see a thread saying hey my GPU works great. Forums just don't work like that hence why i asked specifically for owners to chip in on it?

The asus PG279Q uses exactly the same panel as the acer apart from it uses a different clamp system hence why they suffer worse bleed than the acer. AU optronics make them which funnily enough is part owned by acer (panel binning anyone)

I'm going to order one anyway and just pay £40 for a 3yr replacement warranty, i'm getting it £100 cheaper than OCUK sell for so i don't mind going that route instead.

This does not really mean much, because it can in practice mean exactly two possible opposite ways:
- acer binning best panels for their own monitors
or
- acer selling best panels for other manufacturers for price premium, while putting what remains in their own monitors

You've obviously not read the GPU owners threads ! ;) Plenty of good experiences in there.
By the way it wasnt an Acer hate thread more an Acer "dont let this happen to you" thread. Yes I was aware of the Asus origins. Its not really the product per se I have a problem with but the Acer After Customer Support. Yeah I am done now. Bye
 
Id also like to know about peoples opinions on this monitor, taking a look at it and Im very interested in saving up for one of these. Seems like it has it all, 1440p, IPS, 165hz. Is it worth the money its priced at?
 
I got a b-grade stock one for overclockers last week and so far I've been really impressed. It's the perfect size for me and the game play is a lot smoother than on my old budget monitor.
 
I appear to have been very lucky with my XF270HU, and have a good specimen; no dead pixels and very little glow.

Adaptive sync 144Hz/1440p is awesome, having come from 1440p/60Hz.
 
Thanks for the info, hasn't done it today as i haven't alt tabbed out of a game, was playing wow yesterday when it happened and was atl tabbing a lot, so may be that.
 
I have one and couldn't be happier. It is sturdy, expected bleed and you should be aware that gaming at 165hz is amazing.
 
mine should be here by the end of the week. the supplier is out of stock and it's not back until the 27th so hoping that means i should get a production date thats no more than a couple of months old.
 
well i'll update this monitor has not turned up because why oh why did the company i got it off decide they would use yodel instead of their normal service.

now battling yodel as to why my parcel went from the shaw hub to london instead of nottingham. and now conveniently lost in london without a trace what so ever. safe to say yodel haven't found it in 4 days i assume it's lost to the parcel fairy.

supplier won't refund until yodel have looked for another 14 days so i'm stuck in limbo at the minute :(
