German train 'axe attack'

More importantly we will keep taking in refugees, women, children and adults, as per our international obligations, in or out of the EU; single market access or not. Brexit was never about dumping foreign aid and our humanitarian causes.

I get the impression a significant number of people didn't realize that.

No but it could be stopping immediate access to benefits from all the newly 'European' immigrants.

Edit: in reply to datalol-jack

Re the just above, I do get the feeling over time the richest countries would all start thinning the gap if we continue the way we are.

Do you not want the gap to reduce between rich and poor nations? Or are you happy for billions of people to live in absolute poverty?

That said the earth couldn't cope with an entire world as rich and consumerist as the 6 richest.

A teenage Afghan refugee (17) armed with an axe and knife injured four people on a train in southern Germany before being shot dead by police, officials say.

Some witnesses apparently heard him shout something like 'God is Great' or at least that's how they parsed it. But as we've learned from the Saudi tourist story -- one must not jump to conclusions of what was said if no witnesses actually knew the language themselves. The yell is such a cliche in our mass hysteria over Islam, terror, refugees and 'enemies within', even my grandpa knows and 'hears' it all the time. Doesn't mean that it is what he thinks it is. Hard to question a dead body though there's little choice left in this case.

From what I understand, a more detailed inquest and investigation is yet to conclude.

I it all about labour shortages though?

There was an interesting article I read the other day:

No of course it's not.

I read that article too but when you look at things like that you are presuming that the potential in those countries is equally distributed amongst its citizens. IMO it would make sense to facilitate equality in this country, for example, when it comes to wealth and then to invest in the countries these people come from.

Saw some pics on a news site and the 'kid' turned that train into an abattoir.

Merkel will probably rub him on the arm, give him a new house and playstation to get over his teenage angst.

#RefugeeLivesMatter. Shame on the German police for shooting this kid, he just didn't realise that attacking people with axes isn't OK in Europe. It's the German government's fault for not sending him on a training course instructing him how to not attack people with axes.

usually id advocate blowing someone away that did this, but I'd like to know his reasons for doing it

And the really messed up thing is that many Europeans actually think this way.

Now I am not exactly impartial in this debate and I am a very anti-religion person and very very anti mass immigration. But again you are presenting this as a polarised thing. The simple fact is that the government is at fault if it openly welcomes people into the country from a drastically different culture and then doesn't attempt to adjust them. Now whether that fault as part of the total package of fault is 0.1% 1 % or 10% I truly don't know but there is a very good case that people are adjusted to the differences they will be less likely to behave as before. Rehabilitation has been shown to work to adjust behaviour consistently across all groups. The easy answer of course is to not accept mass immigration but whilst it is accepted there does need to be such provision. If that prevents 1 out of 100 of these attacks then it is worthwhile. And lets face it there will 100 of such events the rate things are going. Likewise it's pretty retarded to not accept that the persons religion had a massive part in what he did in all likelihood. These aren't black and white things pretending they are is naive and smacks of poor thought process. Solutions are there they are just complex and comprise of many components.

Well he shouted "Allahu Ackbar" while he was carrying out his attack and had an Islamic State flag. So no, I dunno either.

WTf, scorza being serous or is he trolling again?

Should we not be doing something more to help people? Why should poor countries be forced to take on this huge issue while we sit quietly in our silver castles doing very little.

I do genuinely wonder about people like you. Having seen that 4 people have been attacked by a refugee with an axe, your first thought the next morning is that we should get more of them over here.
