Amazon Prime v Netflix

I use amazon & love it!

Also tried NowTV and its VERY worth it for the live tv entertainment passes which are cheaper than Sky.

But so much better alternatives to be had elesewhere for fraction of both services combined. (TV Wise.)

Next day delivery & photo storage mainly all I use.

I've had all three and I think Netflix is going downhill whilst Prime is improving. I have NOW for 3.49 a month for four months which is very good value.

Tbh I think the best tactic is to have one sub only at once, gorge on that, cancel and move to the next. I don't bother with Movies thru Now though, just the TV

When the football starts again i'll cancel all three and get SKY SPORTS instead, I won't have enough time for box sets.

Great move by Amazon to make subs monthly. I just wish they'd drop series en masse though, Mr. Robot 2.0 is just starting and one a week is no good to me, it makes for a less immersive experience.

Yeah I see a lot of the passes on eBay but I'm not convinced.. Would love to get a good deal to catch up on Game of Thrones etc.

My brother pays for, Netflix and I pay for, Prime and we share access. Netflix looks better to me though with shows like, Daredevil, Better Call Saul, Jessica Jones, Orange Is The New Black, Stranger Things.. etc while, Prime has Mr. Robot which I hear is alright, Extant which is crap and looking forward to, The Grand Tour. But Prime has all the store benefits too.

Hand Of God, Bosch, Man In The High Castle, Black Sails, Mr Robot to just name a couple...plus loads that are exclusively distributed on Amazon and not on NF or NowTV.

Vikings, for example. Which is amazing.

I've got Prime because the delivery was a nice bonus, there is easily enough content for the time I have to watch, and there were no specific shows I wanted to watch (i.e. there was nothing on either service which made me want to sign up to them).

You also get Prime Music, which I've just started to explore. There's quite a lot on there.

Having had both now for a few months I can say I use Amazon Prime Video a lot more but then that's partly down to my watching the X-Files again but still Netflix hasn't been used anywhere near as much!

The shows mentioned earlier that are on Prime Video are a big part of why I prefer it - some excellent TV on offer although Netflix has some better new movies.

Then of course there's also The Grand Tour to look forward too :D

I just recently dumped Netflix for Prime. NF's content is updated far too slowly and I've seen virtually most of the stuff over the years. Since I use Amazon a great deal for deliveries it felt completely right that I try out Prime. I haven't had a proper gander yet but from what I've seen it is impressive.

The fact you can download films/tv shows to watch offline on Amazon makes it a dealbreaker for me as I do a lot of travelling. The most recent update allows you to download to SD card also.

Netflix needs this ability for me to even consider it.

If I wasn't using one of the DNS spoofing sites that still works then I'd cancel my subscription. The UK content on its own just isn't worth it.

Amazon Prime is slightly better, but not by much. If it wasn't for all the other benefits of Prime then I'd cancel that too. What annoys me about Prime is that it doesn't play nicely with my Chromecast. I have to use a games console just to watch Prime content, which is very clunky compared to Netflix on my Chromecast.

This is what bugs me for all these paid for TV services. Why should you have to wait x number of days/weeks to view content that has already been shown in another country on the same service? Its no wonder the torrent sites are kept so busy.

The only thing I don't like about prime is browsing categories.
In netflix I'll go to "Drama" and there's an endless list of drama films/tv shows. On prime they only give you 30-50. Is there a way to expand the list?
