So, sadly, my trusty old BenQ monitor has packed in. Naturally I'm looking to get another one.

My choice is between:

Asus PB287Q

or

Acer Predator XB24

These are both within my price range and as I'm not that savvy when it comes to monitors, I thought I'd ask the humble community here to give me a hand :)

Probably worth mentioning that I only really game on my current set up and it's more then capable of pushing higher resolutions.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Perhaps a silly question, but are you prepared to spend the money on GPUs to drive a 4k screen? I don't think your 980 will fare very well at that resolution in the latest titles...

I used the Philips 40" 4K monitor for over a year before recently getting a 27" 1440P IPS gsync (Asus ROG Swift PG279Q). I would recommend the Asus to most people, the tech is more rewarding for gamers (high refresh, gsync etc.). 4K was a struggle to drive (980ti) with some games.

(28" is too small for 4K, you end up using UI scaling which kind of defeats the purpose of 4K).
