What have you done to your car today?

Nice!

I could use one of those on the Octavia... Wonder how that would turn out..... :D

It would take you a week to make any positive pressure. Diesels do not spool turbos particularly well (Holsets from 5-6+ litre V8 diesels making a few hundred hp make 500+ on petrol engines)

too right, the lag on my Mazda is terrible. but once its gone it gets to 23PSI like WOOOOOSH

passenger window just dropped in my mk4 golf.

Managed to get it so its held up now, but looking online its gonna take a bit of effort to replace the mechanism -.-

everything is starting to go wrong on my golf now, MAP sensor is kicking out faults, ABD / traction control warning lights, erughhh.

Got intercooler and engine all bolted up. Cleared all the crap I don't need from the loom. Now to splice it into ce2 stuff.

Need to finish making the mounts for the intercooler as its just resting at the moment.

Don't know how big the image is, can't resize on my phone so have a spoiler tag!

How easy was that to do?
I want to fit a fmic to my mazda myself. But there are no kits to do it.

Would lots of random bends and straight pipes cause an issue?
I could easy make my own pipes using the pipes and silicone connectors (90/45/15 degree ones)

This just come today:

Should hopefully save having to **** about with bricks to get my car high enough to get the jack under. 89mm at its lowest and for a extra £5 i added the rubber jacking pad. 180 rotating jacking handle, looks very well built. £40 all in inc next day delivery.

You want as little in the way of pipework and bends as possible but it's not really going to make a noticeable difference.

I wouldn't bother though for what you'd gain compared to what it would cost you. Just the silicone hose, alloy tubes and hose clamps cost me £300

Not a bad price..

:)
I bought the absolute lowest jack I could (72mm minimum height) and I still had to jack the car on to wooden planks to get it under the front centre jack point.. the rear is OK though..

Doesn't sounds too bad.
I checked my intercoole and there is a spot that looks damaged. And I seem to have a boost leak so I'm putting it down to that.

I have the same Jack as that, seems a decent bit of kit, especially at that price point.

I have also had that jack for a while. Gets under my car nicely and holds up no problem.

Went to a garage this morning to get a quote for fitting the "hedgehog". Quoted €220, said they'd call me in the afternoon, and didn't. So I got ****ed off, borrowed my neighbours screwdriver set and decided to try doing it at the side of the road, and it actually worked :D It's a godsend having working AC.

Incredibly proud of myself considering my level of mechanics is on par with Jeremy Clarkson.

£162 for a heatsink and small circuit board. Bargain!

Really easy to be honest. I have a quad lamp grill and my rad sits at an angle so I had to move it straight to fit behind everything but the pipe work etc was all really easy. I'm going to weld it up at my dad's when I get the time.

I don't see the bends being an issue. I know someone who runs his in the weirdest and longest way possible but works fine.

There are kits for mine but they are £500+ and I wasn't paying that when I can mount it and make the pipe work fit myself

I have this jack and it let's itself down which is bloody scary when you are underneath.

Replaced it with this.

Diagro, just sell your tractor and buy an MPS already. Spent so much time and money dicking around trying to make it into an MPS that it would have been cheaper to get the MPS and take the hit on fuel economy by now.
