If by fighting you mean doing a really good job of walking around inside the perimeter and calling for help if they spot the naughty men

Most perpetrators stop because they are caught or spotted. Given the base holds approx. 10,000 people then it's just as likely that they pulled up to speak to the man with intent to mug/kidnap him but were spotted.

Well they are treating as attempted abduction, they are on the loose and could be a danger to anyone now until caught.

Police hunt two Arab knifemen who tried to kidnap serviceman who was out jogging near RAF base - and say they can't rule out terrorism.

The first suspect apparently shouted at him and made an attempt to grab him but the victim successfully fought him off, causing the suspect to fall to the ground..

The base was temporarily locked down after the incident at around 3:40pm when the pair attempted to grab the unnamed serviceman, believed to be in his 20s, but he fought them off.

Although at first glance this doesn't seem to be a particularly big incident, can you imagine what may have happened had they managed to abduct him? Very grim

RAF Marham plays a key role in operations against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, I can see why this base was targeted.
