You've plugged the composite cables into the component input. According to the manual, you should have a jack pack that enables you to accept composite inputs that you'll need ?
Am I right in thinking you can plug the PS1 AV connector into the N64, For some reason I'm having a flash back of the block connector for the PS1 side of the cable fits into the N64, pretty sure it worked as well.

Might be thinking about the SNES AV cable? AFAIK SNES/N64/Gamecube could all use the same one.
I don't know if it's the same issue, but I had some problems running an N64 on a cheap no-brand TV and it turned out the screen didn't support the low resolution (240i?).
I just go my SNES, using that cable with an RF switch and can't get a thing either.
NVM, I got it sorted.
Make sure to tune your TV, might be channel 3 or 4.
Plug the RCA cables in, and the RF switch box if you have it directly into the tv. The aerial if you have one, does not need to be inserted. At least is the case here.
