The GTX 1080 was only a stop gap for me...

...I just didn't think the new Titan would be out so soon, maybe as soon as next month? Geez!
I sold my Titan X SC for the GTX 1080, assuming I would have it until at least Xmas. It looks like ebay will shortly be getting an almost new GTX 1080 GLH card.
Nvidia sure knows how to dig its claws into my wallet.

I'd wait for the Ti if I were you. i'd not expect much change out of £1300. Twice the price of a 1080 for 30% performance? up to you but I dont think its worth it personally.

Depending on pricing and performance on the Ti's will be if I upgrade. Tempted even to stick to a single card now aswell.

And here I am scared to drop 250 on a card :p

I imagine a lot of 1080 owners are feeling a bit put out that it's reign is ending so quickly. Last time Nvidia released the 980ti just before the Fury was due so maybe they know something we don't and a Vega release is due before the years end.

The 980Ti was released because it was ready to release.
The titan X Pascal is being released because it is ready to release. The Titan X and 1080 are in very different market segments and don't compete with each other.

Use your 1080 as a dedicated physx card lol

Not really bothered TBH (got a 1080 GLH) as the Titan will be mentally expensive so it has never crossed my mind to even consider it. Now if the Ti were coming out in August that would be another matter!

Not going to worry about it being bettered as it happens very quickly with all GPUs.

Not really. I do have a 1080 but the jump in performance, if it is only 30%, does not justify the double price for me so I won't be buying it.

Waiting for the TI and if that one comes at 40 - 50% more performance for a price of about £800 then I will get it. Let's see what the future brings. I still want one card which can do 4K properly.

Nah, we knew it would be coming, although far sooner than I thought. The 1080 is and still will be a very capable card.

To be honest, if I had known the Titan was so close I would have waited. This is my 3rd GTX 1080 due to various issues. I settled with the Gainward GLH card and it OC's like a beast. It kinda knocks the wind out of your sails when you know a card is being released this quick that could beat it by at least 25%. Still, hoping to be a day one purchase for me, crazy I know.

Not really, this card will cost £1000+, the 1080 means I can enjoy 4k now without paying a grand for it.

I would think the exact opposite. If they know that AMD dont have anything up their sleeve that could compete for a good while, then get it out ASAP and have that market all to yourself for as long as you can.

I think the rumor was that the Vega that *could* come before year's end was going to be baby Vega, anyways. Probably more a 1070 competitor than anything.
