IIRC Breivic shot up a liberal politics college campus, and also planted bombs at a liberal news headquarters. The only way I can see this as being far-right, is if the shooters are actually nationalists from another country.

I think Germany set up its SF gsg9 (tinks thats it) with support from the SAS originally.

But the way things are going the continent forces are getting far more counter terrorism experwnce than the uk forces so training is likley to go the other way now days

This is exactly my thoughts. I'm all for helping those suffering, however it needs to be processed properly - only time I've wanted Germany to make camps to do it in an orderly fashion to maintain security, dignity and respect for the poor German people and also to help eliminate those piggybacking on the suffering of others.

Condolences to those suffering loss right now. This could have all been avoided which really hammers it home. :(

Why attack a mall though? I'd have thought a mosque or something would have made more sense. Breivik selected his target carefully, these guys seem to just be letting loose where they might kill the people (ethnic Germans) they are meant to care about.

If they class them as race traitors, then going for the least secure and highly crowded location makes twisted sense. They may also have acted with little detailed planning, finding an opportunity when authorities were concentrating elsewhere on monitoring other threats.

Facts are still lacking.

They do but SAS are a point of call in situations like this and historically they often stand by as tactical to a number of other special forces. Eg bus hijacking in Africa with kids they advised giving sleeping pills in food iirc. Had a book on them in mid teens.
 
I think this will transpire to be a right wing lead attack on foreigners/people in general. This doesn't look like an "Islamic" Terror attack to me.
