Shots Fired in Munich Shopping Centre

Should have stopped who?

We simply don't have the means to determine who is a terrorist and who is fleeing the very same terrorists responoble for acts like this.

What ha's happened in Munich pales to insignificance compared to what happens I Syria and fully justifies why Europe should be a cepting as many refugees as possible. And decent human sold be doing their best to accondate fleeing refugees escaping such atrocities an standing up against terrorim.

Blaming migrants is exactly what the terrorists want. The terrorists win when someone brandishes refugees or Muslims as terrorists.

Why should Europe accept them though, what about all those oil rich Muslim countries? How many have the Saudi's accepted? What about Iran, Qatar, UAE, Pakistan, India? Oh right, they don't want to live there because Europe is rich

Oh look you lot. Just bog off and keep your heads in the sand. One of these days when you or someone you love is caught up in something like this you will soon change your tune. It's very easy to keep your liberal views when you are not affected, but they will soon change when it affects your life and puts you in danger or worse.

Out of interest, has something happened to you or your loved ones in the past?

Six wealthiest countries in the world, which between them account for almost 60% of the global economy host less than 9% of world's refugees

In contrast, more than half of the world’s refugees – almost 12 million people – live in Jordan, Turkey, Palestine, Pakistan, Lebanon and South Africa, despite the fact these places make up less than 2% of the world’s economy.

No it hasn't thank god. But then show me one person who has lost someone through terrorism who holds the same views as the liberals. I've had experience with young friends dying and sudden grief. Your outlook on things that contributed to their death completely change.

Confirmed only 1 shooter now dead (good)

if that is the case... and (according to some reports)he committed suicide... then it doesn't sound like an Islamist attack

(yes obviously there are suicide bombers but they're taking others with them etc.. simply shooting yourself isn't really something an Islamist would tend to do)

Answer me one question. Did we have this amount and level of atrocities before Merkel welcomed them all to Europe?

Do you learn of every single murder and crime that occurs in the UK and Europe and is not sensationally reported? Terrorism's in season now; doesn't mean the sky is falling. Radicalisation of native extremists won't stop if we stop taking refugees. And external threats using illegal means to get in under false pretences to do harm ignore the law to begin with, and us reneging on our humanitarian obligations will merely advocate their twisted cause for them; since we would be explicitly stating that a particular type of life is worth less in our value calculus.

Neither issue is addressed or fixed really by isolationism and throwing of money at the problem, particularly if our interventionism and geopolitical objectives are destabilising or have destabilised the conditions elsewhere.

Safety and security are important but not at all costs.

Our humanitarian obligations are impacting on the lives of our own citizens (Cologne sex attacks). It's at that point where you draw the line. Their safety and security is important, but not as important as the safety and security of our own.

You gor to be kidding me right?

Such ignorance is shameful. Just look at the facts posted above. Europeans should be embarrassed by how little they are helping the refugee crisis.

There is just a small complication of the likes of Shia and Shiite, etc. there.

The EU and international community should have pumped huge amounts of money into aid closer to Syria and worked with the neighboring countries. The UN has proven to be totally useless. Do we know whether the US is doing any humanitarian work?

I agree that we should be taking in some of these refugees in, but targeting the weak and vulnerable rather than all and sundry as Germany has.

Edit: just to add that I believe the EU borders with countries outside the EU need strengthening.
