Electronic catastrophe!!

I never actually had a Blockbuster near me. I think my video rental store was called Apollo.

My grandad had a blockbuster near him, and I used to spend Saturdays with my nan and grandad. He would always go out in the morning and rent a couple of videos for me to watch until the Grandstand football results came in. Then we would have dinner of sausage beans and chips. Happy times. I'm getting misty eyed here lol.

does that mean i can get a refund from scotch ? they said I could watch my tapes forever ?

OMG I remember that advert. I watched it loads of times because it was shown during a TV showing of Supermen 2 that my grandad taped for me on a, you guessed it, Scotch video tape.

Remember trying to start a cassette recording without the dj/broadcaster for that hour not talking over the start and end of the song? Or cloning a section then lining up the double deck to put it together to bypass their discussion over those sections.

Anyone suffer the perennial problem of VHS rental? Getting home with your film, settling down and finding out that the tape was completely and utterly buggered, then spending the rest of the night watching a film you have seen a million times because you only owned about 5 videos.

Yes. Ghost was one of them. Most of the time the bloody tapes weren't rewound.

Yeah, and often the whole tape weren't buggered but one bit of the film was ruined where people had rewound and watched it over and over. I remember the final fight in Karate Kid was one of those. Getting to the best bit and then it going all over the shop was more annoying than having the whole tape buggered.

The second Ghost tape was fine until the train guy teaching Sam. It became all garbled for 20 minutes or so. Nothing worse sitting down and all settled enjoying the story for that to happen.
