Ali Sonboly's hairdresser described him as a "typical teen" who was "quiet, didn't talk much" and who "wasn't religious".
He said he didn't believe the attack could have been an Isil-inspired Paris-style terror attack, because the family were Shia Muslims.
"They're Shias," the hairdresser, who gave his name only as Hakan, said."How could he be with Isil? Isil hate the Shia."
He said the boy had only been in to have his hair cut twice at Sand Coiffeur, just across the street from the flat where the familylived, but that his father as a regular.

This is the only quote I can find, stating the family are Shia Muslim but that the shooter wasn't religious - But then again, this is his 'hairdresser' and has only been in touch with the person twice by his own admission so who knows.
I'd really like to see this 'obvious link' with Brevik ... Other than the date of the attack I can't really see one. Hopefully more information is incoming.
From what information we have at the moment this doesn't appear to be another IS type attack. If anything this looks like someone who just happens to have origins from the Middle East but the driving force appears to be more profound psychiatric issues. The current events obviously had a part to play if anything from what he said and who he targeted it was more likely to do with him being persecuted due to his origins and lashing out eg bullying at school etc.
The current environment and all the press just acts as a stimulus tbh. Therefore, to say this has nothing to do with immigration is wrong. It most likely does in an indirect manner. And this is the problem the immigration will drive all manner of conflict. Let's face it no one was shocked when it was first thought to be a right wing attack - let's face it with all the rabble-rousing from the far-right politicians it's going to happen sooner or later.

This appears to be more along the lines of the mass shootings you get in the US for a diverse range of reasons.
It is unfortunate that amongst a proportion of the population, all they will see is an Iranian kid, and blame immigration and Muslims.

Parents and anyone linked to him need to be investigated. Find it hard to believe they knew nothing.

Don't you find it surprising all this link to Norway etc is all a bit quick, cheers for the link, i find it strange that there is hardly any info around him out there besides the info we are told by the German Security.

They have found material about shootings at his home.
It doesn't take a genius to realise that there was material about Brevik there.

I would like to see why they seem utterly convinced he was inspired by Brevik - Maybe they found a load of propaganda at the family home or something?
I also find it hard to simply believe the German authorities after their previous digressions recently. I'm sure things will become clearer over the coming hours and maybe days as they dig up more information.

David also worshipped a white guy named Anders from Norway.
Following on from Davids studying and worshipping of Anders, David then went on to commit murder and kill a load of innocent people on the anniversary of his beloved Anders.

To be honest, if it is true and he does turn out to be what i posted above then i give up and will facepalm for 24 hours.
You cannot fight that, that is really ****ed up if it is true.
Not one single person would suspect him as being right wing, they may think something is not right, but not right wing, unless he told others.

Well, very little is certain at the moment - Either theory isn't impossible at this point in time. I am too guilty of assuming this was a religiously motivated attack because of the current climate we find ourselves in so you aren't on your own.
