GTX 1080 Advice Required

I didn't read the post where he said he wanted to stay with Nvidia. Even so brand loyalty is silly when you should go with what you need and not what isn't worth your money or time. I didn't try and push it on him k suggested 980ti first!

So sorry okay if he wants Nvidia then 980ti with a cheap TN gsync 1440p monitor.

I have been AMD all my life, brand loyalty is over.

What is the confusion? Has anyone read the thread title? :p

Thanks :)

Thanks for the advice anyway guys.

I will certainly look into the 980ti/1080ti but from what has been said it looks like the MSI 1080 will do me well!

do let us know what you think once you buy and setup all your new, shiny stuff. It would be interesting especially if you're coming from the AMD world.

I'm interested in knowing if you have the cash or are using a CC to pay for this overpriced epeen card? What's your age? Have you saved up for this? Do you have a lot of disposable income? I know what people will say "none of your business" but it may be the dad in me that wants to maybe save you from a terrible mistake and some bad debt;)

But he wants a 1080, which is why he posted this thread in the first place.

I just wonder how you would respond if in any thread about people asking which RX480 to buy someone came in suggesting a NVidia 750ti instead.

Look he asked for 1080 ADVICE and my advice is NOT TO GET A 1080. And your logic about wanting a rx480 and getting him to get a 750ti is just moronic but thanks for the the laugh.... At you;)

Wow. How embarrassing.

really? I was thinking creepy ...

Oh look the guy that has always got an issue with my replies.... Whatever do as you please and listen to these morons that will waste your money, so you can be part of this rather annoying "elite". And it's interesting that people spending a crap load on a bloody GPU would call me "embarrassing" and "creepy".... Geeks calling others embarrassing and creepy. Kettle. Black.

dude, you have serious issues ...

reasons to get a 1080 over a 980ti = triple monitor setups and or VR, especially HTC Vive which does not have async timewarp framerate smoothing ( due to simultaneous multi projection in pascal ). Also some think its possible nvidia will nerf the maxwell cards performance to encourage people onto the 1000 series

Well yes and don't we all? Like all these muppets buying stuff they don't need. That's the issue with out economy and the crap we're in right now:)

According to your post history , you bought a nano on release yet you seem to have a problem with someone buying a 1080...

It is just peculiar.

Stalking much? Yes I did and I paid for it with my money. Not the banks! Although I have made that mistake in the past and I regret it... Sitting here and trying to get someone to make the same mistake as me is just plain wrong. He may well have the cash and be able to pay off some debt, but it's worth asking just incase he's making the same mistake I once did...

Your posts just stink of fanboy tbh. There isn't anything wrong with buying more than you need. Its nice being able run stuff at max settings / more performance for the future.

He said he wants a 1080 and is going to get one. Just leave it at that and leave the thread.

How am I a fanboy? I have a 980ti and a Nano and have suggested either a 980ti or a Fury over the 1080 for his specific needs... I mean come one people! How about you reply with a response that makes sense and I'll leave anyways because of actual "fanboys" using the fanboy excuse to win an argument that literally makes no sense...

What'a wrong with buying a 1080 if the OP can afford it? It's not like the power will be wasted, he'll be set for quite some time. No need for such pathetic, patronising dribble.

If I could justify getting a 1080 or an AMD equivalent when it comes out, I'd definitely do it.

Honestly stop! You are asking questions which are none of your business now and frankly, out of order. Give it a rest.

I wuld say go for EVGA or gigabyte. both have great customer service and make reliable cards.

With EVGA you can buy additional warranty and extend it to like 5 years

Ok complete comprehension failure, but .....actually never-mind.

Must remember not to feed the trolls.
