Which GPU? Ordering in 1 hour!

fury is a stonking card for the money, especially since you have freesync,i think they had the nano at £320,not sure whether it sold out tho.

I did see that card but for £20 less and a better cooler I think the Nitro is probably the best, thing that really hurts me is I wanted to wait for Vega as coming from a 290 I feel like a Fury isn't going to be that much of a upgrade.

WOW time flys I didn't realize the R9 290 was released in back 2013
(Years just seem to disappear fast now days )

Yeah Nov 2013 was the release! TBH I have had my fair use out of it considering it cost me £235 but I just wanted another 3 months from it :o

Maybe I should just go for a really cheap second hand card that will support freesync, but I love gaming.

I wouldn't pay £300 for a GPU that only has 4Gb of Vram..

I mainly upgraded from my SLi 780ti setup a few weeks ago because I had to as many of the lastest games need more then 3GB

4GB of HBM memory though and improved compression for efficiency.
I wouldn't pay £300 for a GPU with 8GB of vram and not enough grunt to use it!

The Fury @ £300 is a steal, and i read many can be unlocked to FuryX as well... Im still tempted by a 480 to replace my 290, but the Fury is also very tempting...

Weirdly though, i may try out the TitanX, i havent owned an Nvidia card in over 12 years and fancy trying out the absolute high end Pascal card when it releases, keep it til big Vega and then sell it and get Vega.

So I have a freesync monitor so a Fury at £300 would probably be the best bet right? I think it's better than the RX 480 although I was hoping to wait till Vega but my R9 290 died.

Considering you have a FreeSync display already you can't really argue with the Fury at £300, that's a lot of GPU in DX12/Vulkan titles for the money. Failing that, i believe the RX 480 is a solid second choice.

I would not factor memory capacity into consideration either when making your decision. :)

I'd love to switch to the green team but if I did that I'd end up with a 1080 but it hurts knowing Vega is going to be here soon and I want to be able to use my freesync. Was hoping Vega would be knocking on the door of a 1080 tbh. Maybe I should save the £300 and then upgrade the Fury later on...

If I had G-Sync I'd buy this but Nvidia makes me want to say f u and support freesync.

Nano is a Fury X. Fury Nitro is a Fury P.
If you watercool get Nano.

Thanks for that I see a Nano is the same as a Fury X without the cooler and available for £320-£330, are the coolers on the Nano's decent?

Not specifically. Nano isn't the same speed though as it throttles and down clocks. I have my Nano on water so it doesn't down clock and it over clocks reasonably well for a Fury based card.

Damn I'll probably just be best off with the Fury then, does the Nano throttle even at 100% fan speed? I've got 5 140mm fans in my case to help get the heat out of it. I'm also thinking that a Nano would have a better resale value later on if I want to upgrade to Vega.
