Ansbach explosion: Syrian asylum seeker blows himself up in Germany

Well he was obviously committed as he blew himself up but was dumb.

It just seems odd to me that someone would be the architect of their own demise in the pursuit if Jihad, and yet falter at the stage of purchasing a ticket. He could have taken out dozens, yet took on no-one but himself.

Surely if his entry to paradise was determined by this action, he would have fully committed to it. Wouldn't his entry have failed according to his own beliefs?

^^ classic OCUK GD mouth foamer comment

"OMG BBC are only reporting established facts !!! why are they not talking about the speculation that I have jumped to :mad::mad:"

list of things that would be fair to complain about at this point
1) person blowing themselves up
2) ISIS
3) terrible situation that is unfolding
4) loss of innocent life

things that you will instead complain about
1) BBC

So a guy with a bomb turned away from a music festival... What was he going to do do you reckon? Lessons on making daisy chains?

Classic GD person living in denial in cloud ****oo land.

Your criticism isn't directed at the Syrian who blew himself up, or even the German government policy or the Syrian civil war - but at the BBC

German Police state the attacker had a video on his mobile phone pledging allegiance to ISIS.

The Ansbach bar bomber had violent videos, including one on his phone, pledging allegiance to the leader of Islamic State.

Police say the 27-year-old had enough materials to build another bomb.

The Syrian man, who had been denied asylum in Germany, killed himself and injured 12 others, three seriously, in an explosion outside a wine bar in the German city.

Security officials say he detonated an explosive device after being turned away from a music festival being attended by thousands of people because he didn't have a ticket.

Joachim Herrmann, Bavaria's interior minister, said the contents of his backpack had the potential to kill and injure many more victims as they included both explosives and metal parts.

A spokesman for Germany's interior ministry said the danger of an attack remained high.

His phone managed to survive the explosion? That must have been a good phone. I bet it cost a bomb.

EDIT: before anyone says that's insensitive I consider it fair game when the bomber only blew himself up :)

Well,well,well...

Another attack, and all the lefties on here jump on people when we assume another Islamic terrorist.

I know from now on we will just ignore them.

A serious question - what can actually be done? over a million 'refugees' in a year,so how do you determine who is a sleeper terrorist and who is just trying to get on in life?

Then maybe they should do something about it or at least be seen to be doing something about it. At present the only time the words "muslim" or "islam" appear on the news is if it's related to terrorism. They have the ability to add some positive light to their religion, so why aren't they?

As a Muslim, I am totally against Islamic terrorism (or any kind of terrorism for that matter) and at the local mosque I go to, the imam and the rest of muslim community are actively speaking against any form of radicalization. I guess the next step is to go out on a public protest against this terrorism.

Unfortunately, I never go to any protests so I probably won't go to that either. The only protest I was quite close to going to was the Iraq war protests back in ???? but I ended up never going to that either, think I had exams or something.

If there is anything else you suggest I should do, I'm all ears.

Nothing can be done now, the sensible thing would've been to not invite them all in the first place

These are just words. I give them 24 hours to provide hard evidence or it's all a pack of lies.

Curious as you are German, or are at least living there. German officials seem more concerned with diverting attention away from migrant/refugee crime - (Cologne etc)

What makes you think they'd link this to a migrant if it wasn't true?
Why?

This, it's done now. Expect more of the same until it reaches breaking point.

Again another serious question - what is breaking point?

When people urge countrymen to 'stand up' for their land against these people, what does this actually mean in practice?

My only real theory to stop and reverse this situation is to repeat history...gulp

Yes, confirmed on BBC News, IS\ISIS scum.

e:

And doing the usual trick like the rest of the scum, acting anti-Muslim before they attempt any attack, to not arouse suspicion. Just like the rest have been doing before killing innocent people.

Just a heavily sarcastic post echoing what was said by someone on the Munich shooting thread :)
