Best 1070 gtx ?

I have absolutely no regrets with the Palit Gamerock Premium. Has excellent cooling and very high OC out the box and is quite competitively priced. Two year warranty really isn't an issue for me, I don't intend to OC it anymore than the factory clock and in the unlikely event it died after warranty I'd just suck it up and upgrade as I intend to upgrade within 3 years anyway.

Now the Zotac Amp Extreme has come down in price I'd say that's also a very decent option too, main benefit is the better warranty.

Zotac looks good for 399 but that yellow stripe on the backplate is a nono for me and my red and black build. Do zotac do it in other colours??

379

Why spend more...

  • £10 gets you a bigger cooler for low noise with the trade off the 3rd pci slot can't then realistically take a full height card like a soundcard or streaming gpu card.
  • Only 2 year warranty.
  • No one seems to know what Palit's RMA speed/service is like [no answers I've seen so far when people have asked]
  • Can get 3 fan longer cards for £30 more and keep it to two slots.
  • Some brands have the possibility of warranty on 2nd hand cards.
  • EVGA offer warranty after cooler removed for watercooling?

Dude the card will be dead tech in 2 years...:p

People get to hung up and end up spending 70 quid more for a rma and warranty they will never use...

By it on credit card and let the credit company worry about stuff like that...

I agree. Thats why I've gone for a 2 year waranty 1070 myself.

Less than 2 years if yesterday's rumours about 2017 Volta are true. That puts a £400 1070 on the wrong side of £10/month depreciation.

3 year warranties are nice incase you want to sell it. Or better still, if the card breaks 2 years and 360 days in and you get a free upgrade :D

AFAIK there is only EVGA who offer a "guest warranty" for the owner of one of their cards who isn't the original purchaser. Unless you have an arrangement with the buyer, which could go wrong, there is no warranty when selling it on.

I must admit that I would be more tempted to get a Pallit Gamerock at £379 and deal with the retailer for those two years warranty than worry about much beyond that, for the reasons noted already.
