rumours in italy that Utd have relented and agreed to 145m euros (~£122m) incl agent fees, but its a dodgy journo (Tancredi Palmeri) so probably just bs

IF true, thats an obscene amount of cash. I know I can't say much being a blue, and he is a top drawer player who i'd love to see at the Etihad, but how mad is the transfer market now. £120m+ for one player.

couldnt agree more , off the top of my head I cant recall how much Mendes got for Ronaldo to RM ontop of the £80m, or Bale's agent got for the £86m deal (as far as I know those dont include agent fees) but I would suspect Bale's especially , just because it was several years later to be around the £100m mark once the fees were paid also.

Still absolutely insane, and even with all the future possibilities with marketing etc etc above the actual performances every week the numbers are really incomprehensible (without even considering the truelly un-imaginable weekly wages handed out)

That won't be true, Tancredi is the least reliable there is. He constantly just makes **** up in the hope that he'll eventually be right.

What I find most obscene is that nearly a quarter of the fee is going straight into the agents pockets and this is causing the hold up. Who pays the agent. Apparently the Agent will be due around €25m.

I don't know how all this agents **** has been allowed to continue. He is acting on behalf of the player and yet seems to be paid by the clubs when a transfer completes. Agents should be paid entirely by the player as they are the ones hiring them.

We should just give Pogba half of the agent fee to sack Raiola instead.

Seems like that is the only thing holding up a deal now, who will cave in first...

There does need to be far more financial enforcement and regulations to curb some of these idiot agents

Its perfectly alright however to stump up 400k a week wages for the likes of Ibra? Yes he's a player and what people pay to see however that is equally obscene.

Agents demand silly fees because well clubs pay them...how do you stop it ? Don't pay them.

It's really simple, United can either pay the money or not. If Pogba, Juve and his agent can get more money out of United then fair play. Perhaps United could use their extensive scouting network and ...scout players that don't cost 100mil+ ?

Juve arent getting more money , yet they were the ones who legally agreed to get the agent paid in this case.

No way should Utd be liable for what Juve agreed between them and the player (and his agent) - its completely ridiculous to think otherwise.

as if making £80m off a deal for a player they basically paid nothing for isnt enough.......might even say Juve are being just a tad greedy.........

Agent's are regularly paid when it comes to transfers, why is this any different ? Pogba's agent will probably have a clause stating he is a due a fraction of the transfer fee, Juve will just want it bumping up so that fee is paid by United.

At the end of the day Pogba is under contract by Juve...Juve can charge whatever they want for a player, its that simple.

Please tell me where I said otherwise.

The difference here is that Juve signed a contract with Pogba /his agent saying they will be paid x% , and now refusing to keep to that agreement.

From everything thats been written Utd have agreed to pay what Juve have asked for - that is completely seperate to what the agent is due

Meh, I don't see a problem with the selling club (who hold the power in negotiations) wanting more money to cover costs they incurred.

Juve want £x net. It's quite simple. Agreeing to pay £y before fees isn't the same as agreeing to pay £x after fees.

They have asked for £100m in transfer fee (by all accounts) , which is what Utd have reportedly agreed.

Thats a very blinkered view considering the amount of the "costs" being discussed, being WAY over the normal %

Think it's time to walk away, if Juve are contracted to pay the agent then they are liable to pay it

What we need is for pogba to kick off about playing for Juve anymore

When Juve signed the contract to pay that - THEY were agreeing to do so, not Utd.

As I said - as if 80m clear profit isnt enough for them

Eh? So using your examples; that 100m was the price tag, and then say 20m would go to the agent. Absolutely nothing wrong with Juve saying 'we want all 100m, and the agent to have 20m, so that means he will cost 120m'.
