**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Not buggy or laggy. I prefer the stock android feel too, but I'm happy at the moment.

I'll probably try and put a stock rom at some point though!

How much of a battery life downgrade do you think I'd get going from a Redmi 3 to a Redmi Note 3 Pro? The Redmi 3 is good but I want something a little faster and a bigger screen. The battery life on the Redmi 3 is so good though.

You don't need an unlocked boot loader to run the latest global beta, just download the recovery version and flash through the updater app.

He's talking about xiaomi.eu roms, which are preferable when there is no official Global rom. They required an unlocked bootloader and should be flashed using TWRP.

Someone has done it on this thread. So yeah it can be done.

Not sure if this was me, but it was CM12.1 that I was running on my Redmi 3, not stock.

I'm now back on xiaomi.eu's weekly rom.

Apparently there is a new Redmi Pro being announced tomorrow? Might see what that looks like before I take the plunge!

Thats good to hear. Might give them a go. Will wait to see what announcements come tomorrow then decide.

The only thing I don't like about MIUI is the iphone style of home screen. With no app drawer :(
This is easily fixed as I use Nova Launcher and can set the home screen to how I wish :) Everything else about MIUI 8 seems just fine to me on my Redmi Note 2

Hi I am interested in a chinese phone. I currently have htc one m7. Good phone but its battery is terrible.

I am a phone tech noob, i dont really understand IMUI or flashing roms and such. Also, how much of a concern is spyware and stuff installed on these chinese phones?

Do these chinese phones get upgrades automatically to the latest software, or do you have to manually maintain them?

I want a phone thats better than my current one, 5" or smaller and has quickcharge / big battery.

I had an eye on Xiomi mi4c 32gb but read somewhere its battery despite being much larger than htcm7 lasts roughly the same time

Sorry for so many questions

Any more info on this? I'm going to be running a giffgaff sim for data/texts and Vodafone sim for calls in my new phone when it arrives. I live in a large city so get good HSPA which is fine, but if it's possible to get 4g then that's an added bonus, but not a deal-breaker.

giffgaff internet is not great doesn't matter if it's 4g/3g both run around the same.

I can't say if you will get 4g on giffgaff in your area all I know is on that phone it used to be support for EE and Three only but now in some areas 4g works for o2/giffgaff.

It's well worth the price that phone
