Fireman Sam the Islamaphobe.

Perhaps it was the reverse side of that. Either way they show him slip and what flies up is.

No it was not the reverse side of what he slipped on. You would know that, if you watched the video. The page from the Qur'an appears from the other side of the room, probably 10 feet away or so. You would also know it isnt the only page to fly up [post #39....again]

I used the  In the context of my exact writing: I'm offended that you're offended

I'm not applying my own logic/beliefs onto anyone. I am saying this is pathetic. I'd very much like for a poster who is Muslim to come on here and explain what physical harm this has caused.

But did the kids notice or care? This is after all a kiddies programme.

I'm not offended, I've been saying "big deal" they made a mistake and acknowledged and moved on. You spent the best part of 5 pages being mad and you appear mad yet again.

You you think it's pathetic, your logic and beliefs dictate this and want others to do so as well? That appears to be exactly what I said.

It has been explained to you over and over again why it may appear offensive to Muslims yet you keep banging your head on the wall for some odd reason, it really isn't that hard to grasp.

Since when did physical harm become the benchmark of being offended, I could say a lot words that would be offensive to many on this forum and to many it would be not. what you are saying it's just a made up book to me with no holy significance as I'm an atheist so everyone should be like me.

Perhaps your right perhaps your wrong, the shows producers probably know a little bit more than us and realised it was a bubu. It could also be said what are pages of the Quran doing on the floor in a pile.

oh my word. :o

cratorloads instead of pretending, actually go watch it on netflix. There is nothing in that scene that should cause offense unless depicting passages from the Qur'an is considered offensive. And if it is, well....

so is depicting a page of the Qur'an offensive or not? Because that's all that happened? and if it is, then that makes Miqdaad Versi as MASSIVE hypocrite when he's posting images of the same page on twitter.

Because it was he's tweets that started this.

No. They probably just realised what has happened in the past to those in the media who have offended muslims.

In what way is it disrespectful?

Muslims care a lot about the symbol of their religion being mistreated. We know this. Therefore it is disrespectful to do something that we know is likely to upset them, such as depict it being walked upon. Especially given such a thing could only have come about by deliberate attempt.

Your posts generally follow a pattern of demanding answers to things that should be very easy to deduce with basic logic.

I don't think so or perhaps maybe. What I do know if they were pages from the Torah, Hindu scripts etc the apology would be the same.

Although the outrage from knuckle draggers would not.

I still can't believe it is real News that real people are being offended by a fictional character supposedly treading on a fictional depiction of a page from a book about a fictional character.

Please take a step back from being offended for a minute and see just how ridiculously crazy this is.

How is work for everyone here today, are you all having fun at work today? I am..... will be ready for my AWS certification exams work is paying for tomorrow.

I've got the flu so sat in bed watching x-men trilogy the original ones after watching x-men apocalypse the other other day. Although I've just missed about half of it due to this silly thread. :)

This thread is another shining example of the problems with GD and ocuk and one of the reasons I frequent the place less and less.
I can understand your thinking here, I'll admit before I was on the mod team I didn't come in these sort of threads anymore.

I can only ask anyone who sees anything inappropriate to please RTM posts. Unfortuntely we can't always get to them right away and can't read every post but we will do our best to moderate anything that needs attention.

I'll attempt to go through the thread properly later when I have time (sadly my lunch break is over).

I've watched it on the telegraph, even they say what appears to be treading on.

And they are wrong. As is the mirror. Not like the tabloids to bend the truth and drum up some controversy, right?

Perhaps they are when you freeze frame and capture, but in motion it looks that way. Perhaps that's why they apologised as that's how it looks.

You dont need to freeze frame it, and..

The producers apologised for causing offense. They did not apologize for Elvis stepping on the Qur'an because it didnt happen. There is no insinuation there at all. this again has already been disproven, which once again you would know had you read the thread from the beginning.

There is no quote anywhere stating an apology from the producers or anybody at Matel for this because it did not happen.

From the Telegraph:

In a statement, HIT Entertainment, which also owns brands such as Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder, said: “It has been brought to our attention that in an episode of Fireman Sam an image of the Quran is briefly depicted. The page was intended to show illegible text and we deeply regret this error.

Depicted, not stepped on. Funnily enough, only the Title of the Article says he stepped on it. Cant you see whats going on there? 2+2=5?
