Higuain 28 with 2 years left on his contract.
Vardy 29 with a year left on his contract and a release clause of 20m.

No I don't see your point.

Haha..right, lets nip this is the bud.

You think he can add so much more to his game after 1 good season and being 29.

This is all about football ability, you're stating that because Vardy is 29, he can't learn anything new.

I mentioned the fee regarding Higuain for effect more than anything else, he's 28 and just moved for a whopping fee, it's irrelevant whether you think he's worth it or not, Juve obviously do think he's worth it. So Vardy being 29 is not a problem for me as to whether he can add more to his game.

Hoping Madrid hijack the Pogba deal. No way in the world is He worth anywhere near £112m. I would rather go for Matuidi and Payet than spend half the transfer budget on one player.

Again, you seem to be misinterpreting my words. You seem to be bringing other players into your argument but it's not really adding any substance.

So now Vardy is compared to Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Giroud & Higuain.

Haha..right, we'll just leave at you don't think Vardy would suit Arsenal, i don't agree.

There was a context though, it was about pace and tactical set up. Not about overall footballing ability and whether who is a better player.

I think Vardy has more to offer, he's adapted so well in his past, moving from league to league and getting better and better that i think he could add a more to his game if was playing at a club like Arsenal.

Sorry, what was the context as I clearly missed it.

I think I've also missed Vardy adapting his game too. He had done absolutely nothing in his career until last season, certainly nothing that would warrant a move to Arsenal. At 29 he's not going to change and again, he's shown nothing in the other 10 years of his career to suggest he's good enough to play any other way.

You've mentioned Martial and Mascherano playing different positions but that's because they have the attributes to play those positions. Vardy doesn't have the attributes to play any other way than he did last season.

Can they afford to without selling a star first ( even if that sale doesnt bring in the full amount?

Cant see Juve agreeing to sell for less than what Utd have already agreed to

As far as Ive seen the only major rumour regarding Real recently was Utd offering 34m Stirling for Rodriguez (when Real are wanting practically double that)

A few weeks ago there was something about Pep being offput by Kroos's wage demands but not sure if they even bid

I completely disagree, i think someone like Vardy who has made it all the way through from non league has shown extraordinary adaptation. i wouldmt want to change him as a player, i would want to add to his game and think he's probably got more to his game than just playing on the shoulder, as shown by quite a few moments last season playing for Leicester. If you ask Leicester fans if they think Vardy is a pure kick and chase guy, he's not. I listen to talksport all day long and the Leicester fans love him, they always mention his ability other than playing on the last shoulder and I agree with them. Seeing a quite a few games last year, he comes across as someone who could add more to his game in that respect, if the system allowed it. He would have got that at Arsenal..

I want to add things to my game too so I become Messi. That's not happening either though.

At 29, having done **** all until last season, you can safely say Vardy isn't going to be adding anything meaningful to his game. The fact that it's taken him till he's 29 to do anything in his career is probably because he's stopped trying to be something he's not, accepted the limitations to his game and concentrated on what he's good at.

Vardy is not a great all round footballer. 10 years of lower league football has proved that - had he had the ability to be anything more than the player he was last season then he wouldn't have been playing lower league football for so long. He's a player with very clear strengths and he's shown, albeit for just 1 season, that if you set a team up to play to those strengths then he can be a very useful player.

Signing a 29 year old that's had 1 successful season playing a very specific way, with the idea of making him into this rounded footballer is fanciful to say the least. Vardy was not being lined up to be anything other than what he was last season - you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Nah, he's got a decent all round game, seen it all last season, play to your strengths of course but to say he cant do anything else is stupid because the proof is in the pudding, he showed glimpses of it last season, if the system was changed, i believe he could have adapted. He's one of these players that has a never say die attitude, a level above a lot of pro's, i think he was just unlucky with his career path, it was because he so small rather it being an issue with technique that he never made it earlier and all his previous coaches have said this. It was his physicality rather than his football intelligence

If he had a decent all round game then he'd have shown it by now and not spent 10 years in the lower leagues. It has nothing to do with his size or the systems he was played in, he's just simply a very limited/one dimensional player.

There's not a chance in hell that Arsenal were signing him to replace Giroud or in the hope they could mould him into another Sanchez. The only reason they were signing him was to be the player he was last season and I can only assume that would have meant him being an impact player off the bench.

Mentioning Vardy in the same sentence as Suarez, Messi, and Neymar. Brilliant.

Vardy works hard on the pitch, but is a limited player; I do not think he is quite a 'one trick pony' but to suggest he is anywhere near being a 'complete' or 'rounded' footballer is ridiculous.

If Vardy was half as good as you seem to think he is Trusty, he would have not been stuck in non League / Lower League football for the overwhelming majority of his career. He did not even start up front for Leicester, played much more on the wing in the championship (and was ****).

From a financial point of view; a move to Arsenal makes perfect sense, at 29 years old and with his primary attribute being his pace (his agility and fitness less so), his days are numbered, so doing a Graziano Pellè so to speak (moving to a club for huge financial gain to make up for such a relative low earning career as a footballer) is perfectly understandable.

I do not think from a footballing point of view signing a 29 year old Vardy would make much sense for Arsenal. There are significantly better, more complete footballers out there whom are younger and have the infinite capacity to improve.

Vardy is a whippet, and an ageing one.

He just slipped through the net tho, it happens. If you've read about his background or watched interviews, it was hjs physicality that was holding him back, he's so thin. Its taken quite a few years to build up the physicality for top level football. Every time he's stepped up tho, he's been on the money. Extraordinary really. You dont think he's got more to his game, thats fine. I completely disagree

Absolutely guarantee I know, talk to, and am friends with more Leicester fans than you, and not the type to phone in Talk*****. I also go and watch them a fair bit, and have done for yonks.

An awful lot of Leicester fans think and agree that he is a player who is good at something, but is limited. The ones I know were far more worried about losing Kante and Marhez.

As for your comments about 'stepping up' well; no. He was poor in the Championship, and he was poor in the first season in the Premiership. Only towards the end, when the team / style suited his attributes did he achieve anything.

I love talksport.

He as was poor in the championship, but like you said he played on the wing a fair amount, i think thats helped him actually in the long run. He's also the highest non league transfer fee ever as well, gives you a good indication of how valued he was. We'll just have to disagree on his ability to playing in a different system

Ballon d'Or winner Jamie Vardy right?

You have literally just contradicted yourself though no? You have said you agree he was poor in the Championship (he was too poor to play up front but played a few times on the wing because he was pacey) and that was playing in a different system. He was poor playing in a different system to start with in the Premiership, he has only being good within the limitations of a particular style.

Highest non league transfer fee; also known as the tallest midget award. Transfer fee's have little to do with a players legacy or quality.

Torres was in-*******-credible for Liverpool and literally useless at Chelsea. See Shevchenko.

Like the season before last? He was on the money then too? Or hadn't he quite built up the strength at 27/28 to play top flight football?

Big step up when he transferred to Leicester, had a poor 1st season but it can be forgiven considering he was playing for Halifax 2 seasons earlier. Was poor in Leicester's 1st Pl season, but again, Leicester didnt have anything about them that season. He's proved he can compete at the highest level now. You dont think he could play for Arsenal, i do, he's proved he could step in the past and seeing him this season, be showed glimpses of brilliance, if he was allowed to fully show what he could do in system like Arsenal, i think he would have surprised a lot of people, i suppose not Wenger as he wanted him. Great ability on the counter but also the intelligence to play in circulation football.

Leicester didnt do very good that season did they..probably had something to with it. Does seem to be normal with him where he takes 12 months to adapt or something, after that tho...on fire!
