Todays challenge for me is to find a cheap low profile bus powered display card that can drive a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide.

We've already got one in the office thats running of the onboard intel graphics / display port on a dell base unit and that works fine but its a new base and its using the graphics that are on the 6700 chip. The other PC's are SFF HP's with i5 4570's but no display port.

I cant seem to find any low profile cards that have display port unless I get into Quadra's and the like.

What are my options to get them up and running as cheaply as possible?

Thanks! :)

I had the same issue - and picked up a second hand AMD FirePro W2100 which seems to do the job with my 4K display.

TLDR. 30Hz only for DVID but I don't understand why it won't do 60hz. :(

I *Think* I've found one:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...ddr3-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-396-as.html

It says DVI-D (so not DVI-I).

Which *I believe* means it can do 3440x1440 @ 60 instead of 30hz for Dual link. But need someone to confirm as I not tried DVID.

----

Big edit 30hz only. Just tested DVI-D on my setup after managing to fish out a proper DVI-D cable.

Update. I've managed to create a custom res @ 50hz on DVI-D @ 3440x1440 after much faffing round working out sitting-out-on-the-porch figures.

Cant get 60hz working without tearing. I thought it should be possible, but hopefully someone with more knowledge can confirm.

Thanks, think that might be the route I have to go down.

Thanks for testing that, I was wondering if I could get away with a 730 or something similar but it does looks like I'll need display port based on that.
