Thoughts about including sweets/Haribo in a business mailshot?

I don't want to have to use customer service. Products that work don't require it. To this point, I have never had to use any other companies.

If only the world was so ideal.

Its worth it for a decent retailer who'll have your back if theres any shenanigans on the part of the manufacturer.

Im always of the mind that buying good kit from trusted brands is always worth it, but even then ive had stuff fail on occasion.

You are bound to trigger some SJW who will claim you are violating their human rights by sending them free sweets because they have diabetes and can only eat sugar free, gluten free pop tarts or something.

It's pretty common practice to send out free sweets with packages these days though so I don't see why you wouldn't. Free sweets are best sweets!

I have diabetes and have received a fair few packets of Haribo from OcUK over the years. I give them to my nephew.

One of our stationary suppliers give out free boxes of biscuits when we place an order over xyz size.

Honest to god, departments go crazy staking claim that they should be the ones to have it.

Touches like this make your company stand out and give a more personal feel to orders/letters

Could chuck fruit salads and black jacks in with it. I know a company that sends random small pots of jam with toner when i buy replacements.

If I remember the right, some people complained about the Haribo OcUK dished out with orders because the gelatin might have come from sources of pork.

Would make no odds to me. In all fairness it depends on exactly what you are doing otherwise it could just come across as tacky. It also depend on who exactly you are sending them too - not everyone is going to be as equally receptive or impressed. When I've got stuff from OcUK the haribo means nothing to me I don't eat or like sweets - I can see why they do it though so don't think worse of them - so they don't lose in that case but then they don't win either. I suspect it's popular with other age ranges though?!?

It's been done to death by every mail order company though, so the ones who don't send Haribo are now the ones who stand out.

Same with including a teabag with questionnaires. It was unique a long time ago to suggest spending 5 mins whilst having a cuppa and filling in their questionnaire. Nowadays it just shows a lack of originality.

I'd rather they collected considered data by including a small sachet of chloroform and suggesting that the participant sleep on it before filling it in.

Same as any other rational person would do! Unfortunately there are some very irrational people out there who will complain loudly if such free gifts are not specifically tailored to them.

Apologies if my post caused offence - it was it intended to!
