970 3.5GB 'Ramgate' - NVIDIA ordered to pay $30 to each owner

Rude? You must have a different view than me. Kindly & a joke at the end doesn't come of as Rude lol lighten up Greg

I wonder if you talk to people like that in real life? Mind you, they wouldn't have a clue what you are on about if you talk how you type lol (see, I can make jokes and lighten up) :D

Don't let him get to you, bud. We all know what his true intentions are, thanks to his blooper video that's immortalised on youtube.

The 970 was still a very good card, despite the memory problem, though it's silly for people to talk it down since NVIDIA were falsely advertising the card. NO company should ever get away with that.

Shhhh he might start being Defensive and saying you Attacking, Rude, Trolling etc

His post was not off topic, he pointed out people were baiting which they were then he discussed the 970 in the following line, your response had no relation to the topic.

Should be an IQ test to post here, another thread completely off topic to personal feuds.

Agreed and apologies.

Back on topic, nobody here is defending Nvidia (that I can see anyways) and they will be giving rebates to 970 owners, so isn't that a good thing? Or am I missing something?

So you would never take free money, Slayer? Sure, and pigs fly.

at the end of the day if the memory arrangement affected the performance of the card then people were entitled to complain. Most who did returned their cards i believe. so meh. for the rest of us, and I genuinely mean this, it has not affected us yet. I will say this though: You cant say we only got 3.5gb and then go on to talk about the other usage of 500mb. either the card has 4gb or it doesnt; Make your mind up.

At any rate, I didnt bring the memory configuration up, I specifically spoke about the number of ROPs so please dont try to regurgitate that argument with me again.

I am not the one defending the 970 fiasco so yes i would take the money if i was a 970 user. Why twist things around to try and fit your agenda? However if i was defending the 970 saying na its fine no problem. Its like disregarding what nvidia did move along... Yes your a hypocrite if you then take the money as it's the people who had genuine problems with the card and people who was not happy that got this to happen.

And i said if you read carefully it has 3.5GB of GDDR5 memory. Not 4GB as advertised. It's the other 500Mb which is not the same.

It's like advertising a 1TB SSHD as a genuine SSD with full 1TB SSD capacity. Not got 100% full speed memory but its still a 1TB drive.

BTW you quoted me first

Anyway done with you as you'll probably come back to twist things again.

As it stands im glad nVidia have got into trouble for this. It was wrong they know it we know it and they should pay.

This is great news, I am glad no matter how small it is to them that they are now aware that people will not let them get away with these miss leading tactics.

I really hope they learn from this.

nobody is defending nVidia, why do we keep having to say this?

I haven't twisted anything, i don't know where you got that from.

And i said if you read carefully it has 3.5GB of GDDR5 memory. Not 4GB as advertised. It's the other 500Mb which is not the same.

No, it has 4gb of physical memory. All of it can be used. The contention is by what and how.

It's like advertising a 1TB SSHD as a genuine SSD with full 1TB SSD capacity. Not got 100% full speed memory but its still a 1TB drive.
It would still be 1Tb.

Well that's the best way to address a point you made, isnt it? do you have an issue with that?

Anyway done with you as you'll probably come back to twist things again.
Grow up, I've done nothing of the sort.
