On the CB front, I really can't see Arsenal signing a big name CB or rather a good experienced CB. There are pretty much about 5 CBs on the books now, obviously if you count Chambers and Holding. With Mertesacker injured for a while it's chance for one of Gabriel, Chambers or Holding to seize the opportunity. For the latter 2, if you're good enough you're old enough.

All it takes is a run of games for either of these players.

Who are these world class players you are talking about that cost £50m?

Not seen us linked to any world class forwards. Lacazette isn't world class, the Italian (icardi?) scored about 16 goals, no where near world class.

Higuain was the nearest we had to a true goal scorer and he went nearer £70m

Too be honest I would be reluctant to spend in this window with the rediculously over priced players.
 
Arsenal have to improve their side if they want to be a serious title contender, all the other teams have improved substantially except for Spurs and Leicester.
 
Everton on the verge* of receiving ridiculous money for two payers that are no where near their worth. They should be asking for a few players in return for both.

Lukaku at least is a proven goal scorer in the prem, you have to accept you pay that little bit extra if you are buying from the same league.

Would rather have him at Arsenal than icardi or lacazette. Young and suits Arsenals style.

I don't think he's even near good enough to lead the line for Chelsea. I thought that kind of money could prise Kane away from Spurs.
 
So we have supposedly reignited out interest in Williams of Swansea. I remember a couple of yrs ago we were rumoured to be after him. Just a shame we didn't get him then, thought he would have been an excellent CB for us.

Mind you it was rumours back then and probably rumours again this season.
