Summer Transfer Window 2016/17 - Rumours & Signings

He's 31, I don't see that as good cover if we lose Stones and with Jag's injury woes. I don't see a 31 year old as a solid option for 10m. Mental money again in this window. Even keeping stones I would still want two new CB's.

Stones and Lukaku are going to be done so late, conveniently no time will be left to spend any of it :D The 100m will evaporate.

This Pogba deal is annoying me now...he'll probably stay or go to Madrid. Have Liverpool done any decent business?

£10m for an established Premiership and International centre half, a leader and captain, that you'll get at least 2-3 years out of seems great business to me

[edit]Ah, yeah, if Everton buy him but lose Stones still could do with another CB.

Nothing to be annoyed about, it seems to be all sorted. They'll clearly be waiting for an opening in the 'schedule', such as after Rooney's testimonial tomorrow, to maximise any marketing potential. Adidas will no doubt be heavily involved. He's also on holiday until the 6th, Mourinho won't necessarily order him back from that.

I think we'll probably hear something towards the end of the week, but I'm just guessing.

Honestly haven't seen anything of him beyond a few little bits at the Euros where he didn't stand out. Seems highly rated by a lot of people though so I assume hes handy.

£37m Sane is costing? Said £20m in the paper this morning.

I did wonder, at that price, why there wasn't more activity around him. He's still pretty green though.

Its always been ~£37m plus addons as far as I can tell. Seems pretty standard for raw youngsters with a lot of potential.

Supposedly we have activated Ciaran Clark's release clause. First Grant Hanley and now him. Rafa signed some duds over the years? These 2 are utter ****e.

Confirmed on Sky Sports now. Clark is a pretty uninspiring signing to say the least, but I assume he and Hanley will be back-ups for Mbemba and Lascelles.

Excuse my ignorance but are clubs reaping the money from the new TV deal already? It seems like some usually lower spending clubs like West Brom and West Ham are splashing out far more than usual.

Hanley is a genuine shocker, happy to see the back of him. Complete empty head, Rovers fans seemed to generally like him because he sticks the boot in but his all round play is pretty woeful.

Not sure what the fee was, but whatever it was we bent you over. :p

the lower table clubs (Brom more than Ham) are gambling a little to stay in the EPL also, but rememeber that even on the last year of the last contract (15/16) every club got nigh on £100m payout from the EPL

a lot of this may well get ploughed back into other parts of the business, but there is still a great deal available for transfers even for the smaller / bottom EPL clubs

West Ham also have Europe dont they? This might be a reason why they have to expand their squad a little to cope with additional games

So apparently Pogba has declared to a fan that he is staying at Juve next year :

As a United fan I am not sure if I should be concerned by that or not. Do I want Pogba back? Yes, hes a great player. Do I think he is worth 100m? Absolutely not!! The only excitement I get with the potential transfer is its ability to make a statement of intent that we can still attract AAA players by distorting their market value. Worth it or not, he would still be an asset to our squad.

The longer this goes on though, it looks more like he will either go to RM or sign a contract extension with Juve. This is well trodden ground for United though.....we have been here before.
