Mounting pump to radiator...

I am having a rad above my fans at the bottom of the case (fans on intake), so I'm wondering if this is an OK thing to do? I have the EK XRES 140 and the EK-UNI Pump Bracket... I know the bracket is typically used and sold as to be used on fans, but the holes line up of course, so is there any reason why I can't mount it on the rad? There is no other easy way to mount it in my case, so this would seem to be the best option. Yay or nay?

Yay as long as you have the right screws for the rad and that they are not too long as to pierce the rad channels. I'd also recommend getting some rubber washers to help isolate the noise. I've put washers on nearly every screw hole between my case and the pump to help with the vibrations (even though my D5 is on setting 1)

Yes I thought about the screws... will need to check what ones come with the bracket as they may be too long, what with being designed with fans in mind, not rads. What washers did you use?

I just checked and they weren't washers - they're small o rings for plumbing.

Rads don't often come with super short screws so you'll have to see what size thread it uses and buy some. The auction site normally has what you need for 99p

Thanks. Are they like the o-rings used to help quieten mechanical keyboard keys? Like these ones? A bit narrower though I would assume for a small screw, but that kind of thickness?

Sounds like the pump / res will be horizontal you'll have to have it upright to fill it, tip the case on it's end and make sure the pump is always getting water. or it will be bubble heaven :)

No, rad is horizontal (bottom mounted), pump/res is vertical.

Not sure how you are going to use the rad bracket on the rad, and get the pump res vertical if the rad is horizontal.

The EK UNI bracket mounts in a flat horizontal position like this...

So it mounts in the same orientation as the rad or fan on the 120mm holes, which in my case is horizontal on the bottom of the case. I have the same pump/res as pictured, which as you can see is vertical.

:)
