Since when have a series of potholes equalled a single pothole?!

No idea about Madeira, but Sicily is one of the worst places for potholes I've ever seen. Certainly far worse than the UK.

i never noticed it, not in Palermo anyway.............but to be honest, you only really notice the dreadful driving

Why on earth didn't he just get it fixed, he then has an invoice that he can take the council to court over. Nothing like mitigating your losses by hiring cars and taking trains!

I really hope this guy wins, the state of roads in the UK is appaling.

We have some really bad roads around here too, my mate sued the local council for damage to one of his wheels a few years ago.
