Apparently because they're not in Europe this year, conveniently forgetting he played badly for most of the year in the league so is partly to blame.

Very few players ever admit to being partially responsible for the team performing badly and not hitting targets

Would be very refreshing if more of them did

As much as I admired Draxlers performances in the Euros, I don't think he came accross particularly well in that interview with Bild. I think its extremely arrogant to describe a club as just a stepping stone, the fans of that club pay your wages, whether you want to leave or not you should show more respect than that.

What happens if he joins Arsenal, plays well for two seasons and then Barcelona come calling - will he trot out the same stepping stone stuff?

It kinda put me off him a bit.

Of course he will, we aren't going to win the title or the CL anytime soon :p

Exactly, call me an old romantic, or a delusional fool, but I want players that want to wear the shirt.

I have a strong dislike for Nasri for the way in which he left.

I don't begrudge players leaving a club, Henry gave his heart and soul for us for a number of years, Fabregas left to go to his boyhood club and play for his idol. Both showed an immense amount of respect to the club when they left.

I could imagine me developing a very strong dislike for Draxler if he tried to force a move from Arsenal because we were just a stepping stone.

Man Utd close to announcing world record Paul Pogba transfer from Juventus with £100m fee thought to be agreed

Manchester United are moving closer to announcing an agreement with Juventus to sign Paul Pogba in a world record deal as Wayne Rooney eyes a new contract with the club.

United are thought to have finally agreed a fee with the Italian club for the France midfielder that comfortably eclipses the world record £85.3 million that Real Madrid paid Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in 2013.

Jose Mourinho, who took charge of his first game as United manager at Old Trafford tonight for Rooney’s testimonial against Everton, expressed hope that he would have his fourth and possibly final signing of the summer formally in place before United’s opening game of the new Premier League season away to Bournemouth a week on Sunday.

However, United are expected to publicly announce they have reached an agreement with Juventus before Pogba undergoes a medical, signs a contract and the formalities of the protracted deal are concluded.

Not long now, hopefully.

Hopefully someone will ask fergie how it feels to have united spend 100m on him. A lot of that I suppose is a bump in fee for not being in the CL. Utter madness for a player of his current ability. Imagine the crowing united fans would have done when Chelsea buy back lukaku, this shuts them right up!

For 55m ish fair enough but this is grossly over paying.

Couldn't care less about Chelsea signing whoever tbh.

Also the money is there, bloody well spend it!

There is no point getting any more midfielders until Rooney is sacked off and let's be honest, we are looking at another season of **** from him whilst pulling our hair out trying to figure out why he is even playing.

The main issue with City and Chelsea spending obscene amounts of money is that it was done prior to winning trophies.

United spending hundreds of millions on players is a result of organic success, now sustained by the worldwide fan base and sponsorship. We haven't had a Russian or Middle Eastern group buy the club and pump billions into it. In fact, it's been the opposite in United's case: trophies, sustained success, takeover from the Glazers and then millions sucked out :D

Mind you, £100m is still an absurd amount of money to spend on a football player, I think everyone can agree on that!
