Windows 10 Anniversary Update

How the hell can I turn off windows defender?? I use Nod32 and ever boot it turns itself back on.

Noticed this on my work PC, both Windows Defender and Avast reported to be on after the update. But a restart allowed Windows to properly detect Avast and it disabled defender. However, it's still there in the notification area even though it says it's off.

Just tried the notification sync from my Android phone (Nexus 6P), and it works pretty well, going to be testing it out as I'm getting fed up of the direction Pushbullet is going.

EDIT: I see it supports quick replies for any messaging app as well, which is nice.

How do you get that going? I tried to install cortana on my android but it just said not available in my country.

how to disable edge browser?, i had it removed before using third party program don't work anymore

Well, for some reason it's not syncing my notifications now. It was working pretty nice earlier. Back to Pushbullet I go...

Only issue I have now is some hideous screen flickering. I suspect the update has borked the graphics drivers. Everything else seems unaffected...

This update wrecked my Windows install. PC would freeze after 20 secs or so after logging in. Attempting to open any programme or app locks up the PC. Loads of people with same issue. Only fix is to roll back to previous build. So might be worth holding off updating til MS get a fix out. Or risk it and be prepared to have to roll back if needs be.

And to clarify, a clean install of the Nvidia drivers seems to solved the issue.

I haven't gotten rid of the Windows.old folder yet. I'm going to wait a little while and then do a full clean install of the latest build.

"Cortana, upload my entire porn collection to Microsoft HQ."

"Cannot comply: there is no new data to upload. Your entire goat porn collection has already been sorted, copyright information inserted and DRM applied, missing tags added, uploaded to OneDrive, shared on your Facebook page, and all metadata sent to Microsoft to be added to your psychological profile. Additionally I have shared some of your photos, along with your contact details, with nearby farmers and anyone in your local area of Welsh decent. Also with your mother and that girl you like from work."

"Thanks, Cortana."

no idea how MS managed to miss this problem, its been happening since February (ish) on all of the insider builds for me to the point where they became so unusable I had to go back to RTM.

I've been on the anniversary for some time, it's mostly no visible change for me... except the lock screen, which is totally messed up, with UI elements all over the shop, and often just a blue screen with nothing else.

No idea how they managed to break that so badly. Does anyone at MS do any testing these days?
