Worst pain you've experienced?

I once broke my wrist, and dislocated it at the same time.

Before it could be cast for the break, two huge Austrian doctors had to relocate it.

One pulled from my hand, one from my elbow.

It was simply excruciating. Never felt anything like it since and probably never will.

Gall stones, I think. They never did diagnose it, Doc kept diagnosing me with Acid Reflux, but then one night pain was so bad I had to call an ambulance. Got a Pethadine injection and a night in A&E writhing around. Pain went in the early hours of the morning and they kicked me out. Never had the pain again. Doesn't sound much like acid reflux to me.

I scraped (on the edge of a brick wall) an inch of flesh off my shin down to the bone. That was pretty sore.

Also sneezing with a cracked rib. Getting that tingling sensation in your nose and knowing what's coming is really awful.

Snapped my Femur and Ulna at the same time..... :(
Then followed by having a sleep twitch whilst my broken femur was in traction before they could operate on it...

One morning my tooth started hurting pretty badly and never stopped. All the while getting progressively worse. It felt like someone both drilling into the side of my head, while running an electrical current through my jaw.
When I went to Dentist, he told my nerve was exposed. I never knew there could be such pain that left you laying there, eyes closed, just focusing on trying to breathe.

I had a similar one where the nerve had got infected, that was about 3 days of constant pain until the dentist finally sorted it. Had to pull the tooth out which was a little loose , clamp my mouth open and burn out the nerve. Nothing worse than seing a hot needle type thing in my mouth and smell of burning flesh.
This was probs the most constant pain i've felt.

I've also fallen off a wall when younger and fractured my skull and damaged nerves going to my right ear, that made me sick and i couldn't walk for a few days. Never got any hearing back to my right ear which sucked but heads all right which is the main thing.
This pain was more instant and then went away a bit

Having all the skin ripped from my chest after a bike accident. Slide down the road on my front for 200m+ and it wore down my bike jacket and got to my skin.

Not serious enough for grafts, just bandages and daily cleaning.

3+ months of skin re-growing back, scabbing and hurting like hell every time I breathed.
Hurt so much I didn't care about the mangled finger or broken wrist.

Still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it now.

Suspected gallstones.

The pain will come from nowhere. All of a sudden it's like Mike Tyson has grabbed a handful of your intestines and is twisting as hard as he can.

Intense pain will normally subside after 2 or 3 hours, after which you can look forward to feeling rough and not being able to do much for the next 6 hours or so.

I was run over in 2013, my bottom 2 disks crumbled, I have pain in my head, neck, lower back, right arm weakness and right leg pain all the time and I am on all sorts of medication including morphine liquid and patch, this is the worst pain I have ever felt as it never goes away. I am now classed as disabled because of a driver not watching where he was going. Great eh.

Worst pain I've experience was watching cancer take my mother.

For physical pain, I managed to get a blocked salivary gland that caused an abcess between the jawbone and skin and another deep routed in the cheek. The dentist prescribed antibiotics, but by the end of the week, I looked like John Merrick and I was considering stabbing it with a knife.

The abcess was in my lower jaw and had I waited longer would have been dead. I had to have 7 teeth extracted from my bottom jaw. Now that hurt.

Kidney infection a few years ago.

Honestly thought I was dying the pain was so intense. Took a course of strong antibiotics + antiemetics to keep them down and painkillers to get under control. Only time I ever used the walk in medical centre to get seen on a Sunday.

Testicular Torsion. :) Imagine being kicked in the nuts and the pain not ever going away! You're nearly there. :o I was just a kid at the time and too embarrassed to tell anyone about it so I waited a few days hoping it'd go away. I eventually cracked and went straight in to the operating room and ended up losing one as it had died. :(

That pain... Other one still works tho! :p

I was just about to say this! I had it as a teenager after returning from my girlfriends house at the time.
Every step caused my eyes to water up and I rated it more painful than the third degree burns on my leg and green stick fractured collarbone.

For me, the occasional bout of toothache is worse, seems to get me where I live, so to speak, no getting away from it.

My first broken wrist (double break leaving my wrist in a pretty wonky shape) was the most intense pain I remember, when I was a kid, pain seemed to throb in time with my pulse, that was ages ago though, distant memory compared to the toothache.

Close runner up to unremitting toothache for me was, of all things, just bruising. Well, I fell from my bike & my leg went black, blue & yellow from mid thigh to ankle, I had to take time off work it hurt so much. Whole leg seized up for about a week, not broken though.

What else ... ah yes, backache - bent over to touch toes, felt & possibly heard something go rip, instant ouchy, tore a muscle somewhere in my back, real spasmodic pain, like a cramp in your leg, took ages to heal properly.

It's nothing compared to some of the horrors on this thread of course, been lucky so far compared to many.

Not as bad a most in here but I remember jumping over a sofa and landing with all my weight on an upturned plug. Could barely walk on it for a couple of weeks.:D

I think this needs highlighting. It's a myth that standing on a piece of Lego is the most painful thing in the world. There are two things that are much more painful:
1) standing on an upturned plug. Way worse.
2) crawling around on your hands and knees and put your weight through your kneecap on a piece of Lego in the carpet. WAY, WAY worse :p

Used to play football a LOT, when I was younger, probably burnt my knees out a lot quicker than my peers because of it, was scouted for a very good Sunday league team when I was 9 years old and just lived and breathed football.. anyway when I was a 15 I was playing in a match, tore and ripped my ACL in my left knee.

Knee ballooned up with blood, almost to the size of a football. Had to go Hospital, 3 nurses and a big guy comes in with a whopping needle, never seen anything like it, was held down, no anesthetic whatsoever, and he jabbed this huge chunky needle right into the middle of my knee - but he wasn't happy with just doing that, he moved it around inside my knee until he found the right 'spot' .... I was cursing my head off, my Mum was in the room and she'd never heard such language come from my mouth before! Yep, that's definitely the most painful!
