Hi guys I've just stumbled across this leak from videocardz who have been very reliable when it comes to rumors especially with this generation of graphics cards. As you can see it's not far off a desktop 980 Ti! give it an slight overclock and you're at 980 Ti level performance in a laptop!!! insane if you ask me! imagine what the 1080m would be able to do easily around 1070 performance! let's hope we can get 120hz+ 1080p screens on these laptops or 1440p 60hz otherwise it'd be wasted power.
Anybody in the market for a pascal based laptop?

will i be able to swap my mxm 980m for this that would be nice :) any 1080m news ?

you might be able to do so as I've seen people swap out their 680/780/880ms for 980m though that was with clevo iirc and did require a modded BIOS so I'm not 100% sure me however will see fantastic gains compared to my very much aging 680m and even with a modded VBIOS at just under 1.1ghz it's faster than a 880m and not far behind a stock 970m still I'm waiting for the price. hoping for just over £1000 for a nice new laptop with this 1070 in it ideally around 1200 :)

If that performance is to be believed and given the performance/watt of Polaris, you have to think Apple are looking at their contract with AMD quite closely.

Just as 980Ti performance becomes so last gen darling.:p

haha! although it's a shame to admit it, it is, I still remember picking up my reference 980 Ti on launch day, I've never been so excited to pick up a new GPU before :p and I doubt I'll be as excited with the 1080 Ti if it's even further cut down from the titan

Thats amazing performance and one can only imagine due to it not being released yet there are due to be some driver optimizations that would get it running even better.

Impressed.

Looks up to 20% slower than a "stock" 980ti to me? More like stock 980 performance. So will be around 50% slower than an oc aib 980ti then. ;)

Either way thats still impressive for a mobile chip.

Actually looking at the firestrike score that 980 Ti score is quite high for it to be 'stock' as stock Tis get around the 16k score so if anything this 1070m is on par with a stock 980 Ti and 980 Ti is more than 20% faster than 980 also :) worst case scenario it's as fast as a heavily overclocked 980 non Ti

Finally, the correct context to use the term AIB in :)
