Russell Square stabbings: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

Shall we blame his favourite sports teams as well because he believed in them as well?

If the team promoted the kinds of things that lead to his actions, perhaps.

are you going to assume that we're all Christian because we live in GB too?

No because as far as I'm aware, the percentage of people living in the UK that identify as Christian is around 50% (Correct me if I'm wrong) whereas the percentage of Somalians that follow Islam was 99.8% in 2010. It's possible he was in the 0.02%, or it had nothing to do with Islam. I'm also waiting on the facts and speculating at this stage.

This is what bugs me, if you are going to post numbers like that can you provide evidence because those numbers are utter BS.

Plus you say support above, how can you possibly know how many Muslims worldwide support ISIS\Taliban\Al Nusra etc etc, whatever flavour. Nobody can.

What is 1% of 1.6 Billion for example? Is the answer not extremely large?

The point I'm trying to make, is that there are a lot of people who automatically assume a muslim walking down the street is up to no good. Basically, the actions of a few tarnish the reputation for all.

Pretty sure absolutely no-one has said this... other than you

The (extremely limited, by their own admission) studies you linked to are looking for insanity. I am not talking about insanity, I am talking about mental health issues, including the very common sociopathy and psychopathy, which would include at the minimum an Antisocial Personality Disorder. Also delusion-related mental health issues, as with religious extremism.

Yet you've posted nothing to back that yourself and as far as I can see there isn't sufficient evidence for you to make that claim at all.

If you are willing to kill multiple innocent people as a terrorist, then you almost certainly have one of the above conditions to some extent, and again, I do not include all actions/decisions taken in all wars in this bucket.

Well you have no basis really to make that claim and the last sentence is part of the flaw in trying to make the claim to begin with as the 'terrorist' label is rather arbitrary and in some instances applied simply because they're non-state actors.

Anyhow, we will just have to agree to disagree.

Yup... only you've got nothing to back your claim and some of the points you've made are fundamentally flawed especially if you're trying to make an arbitrary distinction between actions taken in war.

The reality and honesty is there is a significant (not prominent) portion of Muslims who do support ISIS and their goals. Other polls about "justified" still carry some weight.

Any links to provide evidence of your numbers above, 99.9% one's?

Yes, making stuff up to have an argument with him\herself.

well if I am wrong, we have an even bigger problem than I originally feared :(

No, like you said earlier I don't think you can get any kind of accurate figure. Other than putting everyone through a lie detector test. The optimist in me kinda assumed.

What would you estimate is a significant number of Muslims as a percentage?

I dont see how it is relevant unless the number is high enough to make a reasonable assumption. Even then, it does not really point to the religion.

All i am saying is i take issue with people posting numbers like you did above an no evidence to support it, one way to look at it is like this:

If you take your figures above then that small minority is ~ 16 million ISIS etc supporters.

Jewish population worldwide is ~ 15 million.

How would the world react if 15 million Jews suddenly decided to go on a terrorist campaign against everyone else?

It is all about numbers, when people say minority, it really is not.

:)

Out of 1,000,000,000 people 499,999,999 are a minority ;)

Those who declared in a poll that they support ISIS are part of their terrorist campaign?

What I find interesting is just the day previous to this it was announced there would be a much heavier Police/Security Forces presence due to the 'Ongoing threat from Terrorism', then the very next day after we are told:

A completely random incident involving a man with Mental Health issues (Due to the nature of which would have been a completely random and unpredictable event...) There would have been no-way for anyone to know this was going to happen if it was as suggested a 'Mental health' Issue. Then, after this tragic incident occurs they are adding even more Police/Security Forces on to the streets in an effort to 'reassure' the Public, almost like they know there might be another chance of a completely random 'Mental Health Issues' attack or something.

Worrying.
