can you sli a 1070 and a 1080?

DX12 does support multi GPU setups of different architectures or combinations of AMD and Nvidia cards, but it's not something worth gambling on as it may be too difficult to implement or hybrid setups may get blocked by drivers and so on.

Oh in that case I stand corrected. I wouldn't fancy risking it though.

Me neither!

OP, if you're trying to decide what to buy. Just get a 1080 and by the time you start to notice your fps decreasing, you could always pick up another second hand or what not.

Well I got 2 1070s I've returned one due to dodgy led lights, so I'm gonna get a 1080 so was thinking if 1070 will pair up with a 1080 as they are both Pascal

Also I don't think drivers will be a issue as I've used 1070 cards with 980ti drivers successfully

You wouldn't be using 980ti drivers the nVidia driver is a unified package that has different components for all the different cards.

I want to get that palit 1080 as it's very cheap, only an extra£120 from the price of a strix 1070

But it's very fat at 3 movie slots

Same thing with the inno3d x4 1080 and the zotac amp extreme they swallow up all my pcie lanes , no way to sli them as I'll lose my sound card and my WiFi slot
