Can you still fool Netflix into thinking am in the USA?

They banned all known datacenter ip's and vpn endpoints, so it's a game of whackamole of finding a paid for vpn service that currently works.

I realised I didn't actually watch much on Netflix and after the UK price rise, stopped watching it altogether. Might sub for Daredevil S3 though.

Yep. They have cracked down big time! Even though the UK and US do have some similar content (eg. Archer), it still made me remove the VPN (Overplay) I was using.

I hear they are also looking to crack down on people who are using other people's accounts to use Netflix without them paying. Could even become a federal law in some places!

As others have said, VPN is blocked now. I have a PIA account and that's been spanked badly. Not sure what the answer is, but if anyone makes progress then please post?

I successfully watched a movie using my UK Netflix account whilst in Prague recently. Can't comment on other countries.

To answer the OPs question, yes you can still watch US netflix. I do this on my chromecast. Don't waste time with VPNs, they are too slow as they channel all traffic through the US rather than just location data.

You do need a decent router though as you need to configure both DNS entries and static route config.

I "borrowed" a cisco small business router from work which works a treat.

Email me (in trust) as I don't want to name my DNS provider on a public forum

How can they enforce that then? Is it in the t's and c's that you have to do all your watching in the same location?

in fairness to Netflix it is not as bad as it sounds.

you can watch Netflix on your account from any country that has Netflix, however you are region locked to the country you are in.

This means if you actually physically go to America and use your account there you do actually get all the USA only content.

What Netflix do not allow is people in other countries to access region locked content. The simple reason for this is when they buy movies/TV sometimes the deal is they may only show it in certain countries (usually for example because somebody like SKY has beaten them to an exclusive deal in that country).

So it is not so much Netflix do not want to let you have it as they are legally obliged to stop you getting it.

If you look at that map you will see if you go traveling with a laptop and Netflix account you will be able to use your account almost anywhere in the world.

The last point about restrictions on sharing your account surely we all recognise that as being fair ?

This is why i packed in my subscription with Netflix,You try and do things legit..but then end up waiting WAY too long for it to come to UK Netflix.

It'd be just the same as if you subscribed to a traditional broadcast TV service though. Ultimately they're still competing with all the other channels/services in each country they operate, there's not a lot they can do about that.
