Hi folks,
Just fitted a ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 980 4Gb graphics card today as an upgrade from a Gigabyte 7970, having a weird problem though......
Bench-marked the 7970 on War Thunder average of 116 frames, minimum 70.4.
Fitted the GTX 980 bench-marked at 211.3 average, 122.8 minimum.
Great i thought, then i had a session of War Thunder and part way through the game things got a little 'jerky' to say the least, frame rate dropped to the top teens low twenties.
I installed Asus GPU tweak 2, I manually overrode the fan settings in case it was getting too warm, to no effect. I tried the 'Gaming' setting this has no effect either, so at the moment the 7970 runs better.
I'm running Windows 10 (64bit) Nvidea 368.81 drivers if that's of any help?
It just seems that the card runs fast from booting up my PC then slows down as the card gets warmer?
** I've noticed that if I try to set 'Frame rate target' in GPU tweak regardless of what i set it to, either low frame rate or high, it immediately defaults to 50 frames a second **
Advice would be appreciated.
