ok so before todays update my chrome and other icons when a program is open were just small squares now suddenly there are 3x as wide with information showing.

like now it shows the chrome icon with "Overclockers UK Fo" whereas before it just used to show the chrome icon. How on earth do i get it back to the way it was before. By the way i'm not talking about pinned icons i'm talking about icons of open programs

also hate how the search box now says ask me anything rather than my old search windows and the web ( cortana is still off by the way)

Any help with these would be great the tile thing is driving me nuts.

Not sure what you meean by the search.
You can set that to hidden, cortana icon or the search box. Again right click task bar > cortana

thanks bud the always hide label worked great :D

search box still says ask me anything even after selecting search from the options, before the update it just used to say search the windows and web in there.

It will do, why does that bother you?
Search is now called cortana. Its essentially the same. They just changed the wording.

No the update re-enables Cortana and you can no longer disable it from the task bar.

You can however disable Cortana and go back to regular Windows Search using a Group Policy or Registry setting.

Excellent used a registry hack, someone posted about disabling it on the anniversary update. I did think i wasn't go mad msoft removed the turn off cortana toggle switch.

It now says search windows and doesn't bring up that silly cortana box everytime i want to search
