Hello,
I just got my Gigabyte Xtreme 1080 today from Overclockers and having problems with it already :( Hope someone can advise.

Issue: I believe the driver is crashing on most programs and my computer ends up freezing. It starts off with the whole computer what looks like to be lagging, this can be seen on movement on the screen and the mouse. After that the monitor then loses connection to the computer (no signal). A couple of seconds later the screen comes back on being all white (screenshot). This will happen 2 or 3 times and then the screen won't come on at all.
I got this message when trying to play a game but only had it the once.

It happens when I had chrome open, but when I disabled hardware acceleration in the chrome settings it didn't happen anymore.
It happens in the windows 10 settings window, Steam, most games, however it didn't happen when playing Star Wars Battlefront.

What I've tried:
I've tried re-installing the drivers and using DDU to remove them, I even formatted my PC without any luck.

I've put my gigabyte gtx 770 back in and it works without any issues.
My setup:
EVGA 750W Gold
i7 6700K
Gigabyte Gaming 7 motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2133MHz

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

OK sound like the weight of the card is causing it to lose connection with the PCI Express slot.

  • Pull the card from the motherboard.
  • Blow any dust out
  • See if you can find something to support the card (to stop it flexing too much) Cable ties on the PCIE power cables can help.

Because I have an open case I use a pci-e riser cable, I connected it directly to the motherboard and it works =/ Looks like it doesn't work with riser cables (even if my 770 did). I'm going to have to get a new case I guess
