Suicide Squad (2016)

See for me, a massive batman and superman fan, having enjoyed aspects from lots of different (film and tv) versions over the years, the portrayal in DoJ was the best yet, for both main characters, and was the most faithful for how i have seen them in the comics over the years.

You are perfectly entitled to that opinion, as I said, I enjoyed the portrayal of Batman in the film (the only redeeming feature). However, even with your enjoyment of the characterisation that does not stop the film being awful.

Everything about the film is all over the place.

Weird that you say that as Im in the middle of BvS (just at the fight  - had to pause it and walk away) and about a third in (before the dream sequence) its actually pretty good with a lot of potential and then, my, it tumbles...

ps3ud0

The fight between Batman and Superman is, actually (thinking about it), alright. Aside from the aforementioned Batman character the film is awful.

Everything about it, from a critical point of view is poor.

I think DC could do worse than basically starting again.

I saw this last night in Imax and i was just disappointed during and after the film.

I want to mention all the pros and cons but it'll end up spoiling the film for you.

Supposedly there are 8 editors for the film.. it could explain the whole mess.

For a frame of reference, i rated BvS about a 6/10 and the extended edition 8/10. I hope just like BvS there will an extended edition that will solve the problems of this film as there was a good film somewhere in all the mess.

This also doesn't bode well for their whole franchise.

Say one thing for DC, they know how to make awesome trailers.

Watched last night (2d none imax)

Hmmmm didn't think much of BvS and this just seemed a bit boring, not keen on the new joker, to me he seems more like a mafia/mob boss. Film didn't really need him in it imo.

Stand out Will Smith and Margot Robbie.
Big bad guy bit weak and the cgi wasn't the best for the brother.

Extra scene in credits I need to watch again as I'm sure it shows someone who died.

Will keep this short and sweet.

Absolutely dreadful. Awful action, hilariously poor editing and flow to the proceedings, villain is up there with the worst on the bigscreen etc.
Very few positives to be found....some bits of Harley are good, though it's far from a success....some parts with Will Smith (note - I mean Will Smith as opposed to the character he plays).....and that's about it. Rest of them are poorly developed and pathetically OTT characters, with a Joker this film frankly deserves (which is about as kind a way I can put it).

If you liked Dawn of Justice, then good news......this makes it look even better.

Just watched it.

Felt like half a film. Half of the characters practically pointless. Bad guy pointless. So many times I wish that will smith just shot that black boss women off the bat.
I didn't mind the joker. Don't understand the hate . I'm no comic book fan though for what it matters.
Tbh it was a mess but with moments and 1 liners dragging it out of the dirt for seconds, only to sink back in during the next nonsense fight scene

What is it with all the crap films this summer?

Saw this last night also.

Didn't like Joker, didn't like his laugh, didn't like how he didn't seem to be off the rails that much. Margot Robbie was fantastic and it's worth a watch just for her alone. Will Smith was great as well.

Couldn't give a toss about what happened at the end, the cinema was roasting hot and I just wanted to get out of there. It was just a 'meh' film.

Peter I described it as the definition of meh!

That was a hard watch, so boring, so generic, just bad in general.

Funnily enough they appear to have gotten the majority of the casting right but my god did they let them down with the material they had to work with.

So it went under re-shoots and still turned out "meh". Really hated the look of the Joker character in the trailers, just slapping him with loads of tattoos to jump on the trend of tattoos over the last few years, just as well they didn't leave it any longer or he would have had a beard as well seeing as looking like Leonidas from 300 seems to be the "in" thing.

Apparently a LOT of scenes featuring the Joker were cut from the movie as well.

I thought the Joker had quite a lot of screen time, I knew going in he didn't have a LOT of on screen presence but it is way more than people say. It's just his story isn't that important to the overall story arc of the movie...and truth be told, there wasn't much to begin with.

I rather enjoyed the movie and it was certainly better then BvS.

I thought the Joker was a bit poor really, he didnt seem scary or psychotic at all. Just a regular gang member sort of vibe really.
