Russell Square stabbings: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

There is zero chance of him not being a Muslim if his family were devout Muslims, it doesn't have any relevance to the motive for his crime, but censoring it is absolutely pathetic

Disagree. My ex's family were devout catholics but she was an atheist. Seems to be that certain people want attacker to be a muslim, so they can continue frothing at the mouth.

It's not censorship to remove unwarranted prejudice comments or those which are not factually accurate, but feel free to raise a thread in the Forum Content Discussion :)

Well it is censorship. Nothing prejudicial about calling a spade a spade. If it looks like a foreign (Somalian) ** this is not an appropriate term for someone with mental health issues ** (someone randomly attacking strangers), then FFS call it one. Instead of making out it's some poor bullied victim with mental health issues.

I guess pretending like you're some saviour of the supposed needy makes you feel better.

So, just to clarify: He's a "** this is not an appropriate term for someone with mental health issues **" with no mental health issues?

I agree with free speech, but let's be honest we have a lot of misinformed comments and hidden agendas.

We cannot confirm (at this stage) if the man is a muslim, so any comments made toward him are pure speculation and potentially offensive to other muslims. Even if he is, what does that even matter? Would you go in to another thread and say "I knew it! Another white!". No. I ask you... do you hold a prejudice?

Secondly, dealing with mental health issues is extremely serious and a rising issue in the healthcare sector. I know, I work in the industry and see it day-in day-out. Continuing to use politically incorrect terms is totally out of order and will always result in moderation. As already stated, if you have an issue with moderation you can raise it in the FCD where other mods can judge the action taken and give you additional information.

Thirdly, all the mods do this for free.. we attempt to make the forums better for all individuals who visit, so you have to accept that from time to time there will be decisions which you don't agree with or edits made "to keep the peace".

Things are starting to come to light that people who knew him:

Didn't know of any previous mental health issues (but nit saying this is reason that they may not have been there)
School friends didn't know he had mental health issues

In a 2014 internet post under his name he declared his support for Mozzam Begg.

No one announces their mental health issues, so his friends not knowing about it does not discredit the official statements made that he has mental health issues.

Also drawing a conclusion from a random internet post under the same name from 2 years ago is a bit much. Where was the post, a social media account or?

Pass, have already included a caveat for the mh in post.

Don't know but some ij's are digging.

I'm not getting into having to explain such an obvious point

We're you trying to suggest a link with extremism because someone with the same name (even if it was him) supported the release of a man illegally held prisoner for years without charge?

"Declared his support" you make it sound like he just signed up to Isis.

The very same who admitted spending time at terror training camps and funding fighters. Seems an odd choice of person to support

the same one that george bush got released? the same one that insists those "confessions" were gained under duress?

are people REALLY that desperate to find an islamist extremist link?

I'm not desperate, but forgive me when we have evidence of the press covering things up for not being just a little sceptical.

It just seems quite suspect that there is a spate of knife attacks happening of this nature eg 1 attacker and multiple victims - in recent weeks.

so you're going to trust some people who have found a tedious link on the internet?

I've found his postings to be a bit odd and desperate to be honest but I think I finally understand.

He's a tin foil hatter, reads infowars and everything's a cover up or conspiracy.
