Are the Half Life 2 episode dlcs worth playing?

As title, do they hold up etc? Had them for years but never really invested the time in them! Loved HL2 at launch, were these known to be any good at the time?

They were definitely worth playing at the time, now they'll be worth playing if you still enjoy HL2 but they'll feel dated these days.

Definitley. Look at getting the "Cinematic Mod" too, which I think works for episodes too. Really does makes the game look pretty smart, even today.

Why? Something happened to it? It's a fair few years since I used/ played it but as long as you didn't mess with the character models it improved the visuals by a country mile!

Theyre not worth going back to play but if you are gonna have a ruin through HL2 then you might aswell pin them to the end. They were a bit short and felt a bit of a rippoff at the time.

I use v11, and think it looks great

Episodes are definitely worth playing, Ep1s a bit short, but Ep2s pretty long, and a cracker.

As well as this, I don't think the episodes were of the same quality/ polish as the main game.

What can be done with such an old game is very impressive to be honest. To me, mas impressive than the Skyrim mods.

This. Valve should let someone else continue the story if they have no intention of doing it.

I would avoid playing them. Simply because they are so great and the story is left so wide open only to know that the Half Life franchise is dead and buried.
