Belgian police attacked with machete

I see the police have now said this guy was not a terrorist but a man with mental health issues, wearing a bit thin that one is.
There is a concerted effort all over Europe to try and take the terrorist angle out of every attack, unless something is absolutely obvious the default is to blame simple criminality every time.

Please refrain from using derogatory terms when discussing mental health - EVH

Yep, that's how i read it, i wonder what would happen if a politician or a household name were kidnapped and their famous form of execution is carried out on him or her and filmed or broadcast live?

Plenty of them don't have 24 hour security either, there is everything wrong with the situation we are in now and anything is possible with these scum.

What i find wrong is that we all know it is going to get worse, and there seemingly isn't enough being done but also what can be done to stop them?

The terrorists haven't had enough, they keep coming and coming.

I said two week ago that i cannot believe that at a minimum anyone who is on any kind of watch list in Europe should be arrested and detained for now, at least that is one source of potential killers off the streets. That is once they find them.

I know it is a lot of people, but we are in unprecedented times, new measures are needed.

Just to play devils advocate...isn't this a good thing? It's less likely to incite terror and doesn't give these people a platform for their warped ideology.

Press coverage and widespread fear mongering is exactly what these organised groups want.

If the authorities want to deal with it silently I've got no qualms with that, it's also less likely to encourage the lone nutters who want their 15 mins of fame.

This. If IS managed to kill a bunch of MPs or a Royal, the funding for actually watching those on watch lists would appear magically for a start.

They had to aim low to ensure public safety. They are trained to aim at the chest, but when there are loads of people stood around watching and the perps are rushing the vehicle they did all they could. At least thats the way it looked to me.

possibly they're just bad shots/panicked and fired before fully raising their weapon :P
